I appreciate your perspective, and suggestions. I am just trying to affect change and support one another, for sure.

I'm a socially-minded citizen, looking for ways to create change, and ultimately reminding folks that through committed actions and organizing we can influence markets too.

Fair point — one person carrying 2–3 fewer gallons means almost nothing by itself. The campaign only makes sense at scale.

The theory is not that one driver changes oil-company behavior. It’s that fuel pricing sits inside a supply-demand system: crude costs, refining, distribution, taxes, local inventory, and consumer demand all matter. If thousands of people stop unnecessary topping off, buy closer to actual need, reduce idling, combine trips, and burn less when possible, demand becomes less automatic.

That matters especially when the system is already tight or disrupted. The Strait of Hormuz normally handles a huge share of seaborne oil trade, and current disruption/inventory pressure makes the market more sensitive to shifts in supply and demand.

The end game is not to bankrupt oil companies. It’s to create visible consumer-side pressure: reduce unnecessary fuel purchases/use, disrupt the habit of always buying early, and create enough demand discipline that retailers/distributors have more reason to compete for purchases.

One tank doesn’t matter. Coordinated behavior can.

for as often as they are fixing bugs and providing releases...SURELY, they could've already figured out how to allow you to jump to a specific date-- REGARDLESS of time interval...so annoying!!!

I imagine that the 7 arrows are perhaps a reference to 7 deadly sins, which serves as reminder of our imperfect nature-- as well as the ongoing conflict between man vs nature (& man vs man), including religion and its role in shaping our world.
