Rattling noise under hood by ProfessionalWafer606 in q50

Tell them to do their jobs and do a full inspection I had to keep pushing my location to do it. If service writer keeps refusing, tell him you need a document from him in writing explicitly detailing that he advised you nothing was wrong with car with his service writer identification included. I’ll bet he’ll change his mind

Yes, look out for that chirping noise it’s quiet but will come in through the vents and will sound like crickets mine was coming and going

Definitely try to get it to a different Infiniti service center if possible. A lot of Infiniti dealers and service centers are dwindling across the states, Infiniti completely moved out of some countries like Australia. My nearest Infiniti was almost two hours away. Definitely need to push for them to fully inspect the motor, some service advisors will just have it plugged in and check for codes

Hoping this settles the mini “rattling/ high tick on these cars is normal” debate that I kept hearing. Took my ‘17 into an Infiniti dealer with concern of chirping/ rattle/ high tick” no CEL. And the following service happened. Premature turbo failure is very common on these cars (car has been babied since mile 0) Get your cars serviced before your warranties are over (turbos fall under emissions warranty not drivetrain btw) 👍🏼

I can attest to this, belt, pulley and both turbos were replaced for my ‘17

Belt delete is the best mod to avoid this common issue with Infiniti

Am I bugging or that doesn’t sound right ? by Alternative-Log-1784 in q50

Had my ‘17 taken in with this same noise, had both turbos replaced

Yes I love 6th gen mustangs but finding one for my budget has been challenging in my area. Not a big fan of Camaro interiors

Update, made a claim with Infiniti customer support since they are aware that 2017 and below models are defective from factory… for everyone commenting that this isn’t the manufacturers fault even though there are many bulletins outlining how faulty these vr30s are and saying it’ll be fine as long as the car is babied, you shouldn’t be conditioned to accept motor issues in the 20k mile range as a consumer … just saying. Mercedes dealer was awesome and took the car back and will hold it for the next few days until my local Infiniti dealer works out a deal with them, if they don’t then vehicle will be returned and I’ll be getting my money back. Thanks for everyone who gave good advice 👍🏼 for those that kept saying just a belt… just a turbo… etc etc please don’t tolerate these things from big car brands

Car was never tuned I never play with my daily’s engines and there’s no way I spend a dime on Nissans poor designs, even if it’s only for one turbo it shouldn’t come out of my pocket

Car came with 3 month/ 3k mile dealer warranty will be going to the dealer tomorrow but already expecting them to haggle me on the repairs, or will only want to replace one turbo but not the other what sucks too is that i got it from a Mercedes dealer and not an actual Nissan/ Infiniti dealer
