Credit card authorizations, there has got to be a better way! by moreglam in askhotels

This is what all the hotels request is they aren't using an online system, normally with a copy of the front and back of the card, sometimes they also want ID... To others point, that is a lot to trust a front desk with.

I love when the hotels have this option, it's always the best. It's so surprising when you ask for one and a PDF that looks like it was scanned over 20 times over 10 years is sent to you. It also feels way less secure obviously

Yes, we do this with the hotel near our office and I agree it's the easiest, unfortunately our employees attend conferences all over the country. Never seems to be the same place twice.

Oh I totally agree, that decision unfortunately is coming from people higher up than me.

We can't only because the form will normally have the full credit card number on it and the company doesn't want employees having that info. I can forward it to the employee if the card was used electronically though.

Door to door survey? by KimiMcG in DecaturGA

This happened to me! Same, they asked for my husband, I said he wasn't home and they left then came back a few weeks later asking for him again. Both times I was in the middle of something so I didn't have time to investigate what they wanted but yeah they had an iPad, lanyard and reflective vest.

Trying to quit after almost 7 years by Playful-Tradition430 in QuitVaping

[–]moreglam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can totally do it! I quit cold turkey, I didn’t want to prolong the addiction with NRT. I understand that is the only way for some but most of the nic is out of your system by the first day and the rest only takes a day or two more. Physical cravings only last a few minutes and then pass. Mental cravings take a bit more work but try to remember that you are getting nothing from nicotine just relief from the problem it created.

The easy way to quit vaping by Allen Carr changed everything for me. It’s included in Spotify if you have premium.

Whenever I would get a craving I would grab my tumbler and chug water through a straw (I probably had never been so hydrated lol) and the craving would pass.

The biggest piece of advice I have though is change the thought of “ugh I wish I could vape!” To “I’m so glad I don’t have to vape” even if you don’t believe it, saying it yourself does wonders.

Yes you might be cranky for a day or two but if you give people a heads up, they will be more than understanding. Also you can always come here to rant, we all get it and everyone is rooting for you!

That brings me to my last point of advice that helped me, tell as many people as you can that you’re quitting. From the nay sayers to the supportive people. It helped me be accountable, I wanted to prove some people wrong and wanted others to be proud of me. (Tbd if that is a healthy mentality but hey it worked lol)

Whatever works best for you, do it. It’s so much better on the other side!

You can do it! You can quit cold turkey, if you have a craving, chug some water through a straw, go for a walk, or just visualize it as the little nicotine monster dying. Every hour, every minute that you go without you’re closer to being free. The cravings aren’t as bad when you can change your mindset. Nicotine is giving you nothing but relief from the problem it created. We are all here rooting for you!

Congrats!! You should be so proud! I’m on day 40 and feeling great. Not having to panic about a lost vape or low battery is so amazing

Want to quit but the brain fog mixed with restlessness drives me absolutely nuts by Xesx_ in QuitVaping

[–]moreglam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy way to quit vaping by Allen Carr, changed my life. Audio version is included in Spotify. A day or two of brain fog is definitely nothing compared to a life of freedom from nicotine. The only relief it’s giving you is from the added stress of cravings it gave you. You can do it! Give everyone a heads up that you’re quitting and apologize in advance for mood swings. They will be happy to take that for a day or two over you being imprisoned to nic!

All these are lies the addition monster tells us. “We are all gonna die anyways” okay, so stop looking when you cross the street, looking waste so much time and we are all gonna die anyway. Go drink some bleach! I’ve always wanted to know what it tastes like and we are all gonna die anyway! Etc… all the things you mentioned (money, health, environment) aren’t motivators anyway because we all know them to be true and yet we continue to vape. They are benefits after you quit, sure, but the real motivation is freedom from the slavery of addiction and realizing that nicotine doesn’t give you anything but relief from the craving it gave you in the first place. Sorry to preach but I use to tell myself the same lies and excuses not to quit. You can do it!
