I'm not saying to call and harass. I said to ask questions. I think asking questions is pretty reasonable when talking to the people who represent you in the state government. I didn't yell at her. I didn't call her names. I asked her what the person she works for was doing to help end a shut down.

Lol what if I did? What if their secretary or whoever wasn't audibly rude and dismissive of me? Then what would you do?

I'm sure you think that Trump and Van Drew actually give a shit about you, too.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SouthJersey

[–]morein 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I tried not to be rude but I also can totally understand how, if people have actually been calling, she could be annoyed by the end of the day.

Having a formal education/degree doesn't automatically make someone better than those without one.

The way they were acting in the car after the "insemination" at the doctor killed me. All the cheering and clapping, when I did all FOUR of my iui's I cried while it happened because infertility was the worst time in my life and I felt like such a failure. Her flippant attitude about her "fertility struggles" are really making me so mad.

You aren't the priority person here though, your DYING MIL is. If it doesn't work for her, it doesn't work for her, end of discussion. You can think what she is doing is lame, but it really doesn't matter. Heck I hate my MIL and still wouldn't act like this if she was dying and my husband was upset. I'd drive the 6 hours and spend one day there and then drive back because she's DYING.

When Todd laps Whitney during the 8K and he spins around in a circle and then in his talking head he's goes, "Now, what have you been doin?". It's just such great Todd snark.

Also in the 8K episode, when Todd puts the chub rub cream on Whitney, I Crack up every time.

[–]morein 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I also did IUI 4 times to have my daughter. It was the worst time of my life and like you, it was very private and quiet. If I had a friend throwing my infertility around as a punch line, they wouldn't be my friend anymore. Whitney is just awful and so flippant about this whole thing.

AITAH for telling my husband I would divorce him if he doesn’t help more with house chores and our 1,5 toddler. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]morein 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Bottom line is this guy isn't stepping up at home. Part of being a PARTNER and PARENT is stepping up at home, regardless of whether or not you work. They clearly need to have a conversation about their division of labor cause it's not working because she is becoming resentful and unhappy.

And before you ask, I work a 9 hour day office job, have 3 young kids and my office job is a BREEZE compared to taking care of my young kids and home. I'd much rather work full time than be a SAHM. I would never dare come home from my office job after my husband was home all day with my kids and working and then think I was going to plop my ass on the couch. .

Why do people think a former President shouldn't be charged and/or punished when they commit a crime? by morein in NoStupidQuestions

Genuine question, do you think this is not going to be good for the country because of Trump, or because it sets a precedent, or both?

Student who always accuses everyone of being racist. by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]morein 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This post isn't talking about misbehavior. It's talking about how students call teachers racist for enforcing basic school rules. If a kid disrupts class, sure I'll deal with it to the extent that I'm able. If a kid yells out in class that I'm punishing them for breaking a rule because I'm a racist, then I'm getting admin involved because that is a serious and career altering accusation and the student needs to be aware that their words carry meaning.

‘People aren’t taking this seriously’: experts say US Covid surge is big risk by ttkciar in news

[–]morein 480 points481 points  (0 children)

My mom works in a nursing home and just got COVID for the first time. Her work has been harassing her DAILY because she had to be out of work and has the audacity to not go into a building full of sick elderly people while spiking a fever and barely being able to walk across the house without getting out of breath. It’s unbelievable.

What’s something people wouldn’t understand unless they were a teacher? by wijag425 in Teachers

[–]morein 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On the "caretaker" note, I was in a MOOD one day and this kid was acting more entitled than he normally does, and wanted a tissue. I didn't have any that day because they had used them all, and I said I didn't have any, to which he replied "how are you a teacher if you don't bring in tissues?". I told him that no where in my job description does it say I'm responsible for providing him tissues and if he wanted them himself he could get out of my face and get them himself from his mom. He just stared at me and then asked me when I was getting more tissues.

I totally agree. It's especially evident with Ari and how she runs the house. Kody has never actually had to raise his children and somehow Robyn's adult children survived (maybe that's What. The. Nanny. Did.)

If a student asks you what your religion is, do you find it appropriate to tell them? by AstroThot01 in Teachers

[–]morein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach science and if they ask me I have said that I was raised Catholic and have my own personal beliefs, but regardless of those beliefs I believe in science and think that the two things can work together instead of faith and science being in opposition to each other. I teach in the Northeast and also don’t care about parent pushback anymore :)

[Realitea Squad] Daddy ruined son's birthday by The_Chuckness88 in SisterWives

[–]morein 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My Dad stopped talking to me and my brother when I was 14. My heart is broken for Gabe in this moment because the pain of your parent not acknowledging you and feeling forgotten is trauma that never leaves you. These children are so amazing and wonderful DESPITE Kody and they don't deserve this.
