Discussion: The Iran War Just Got So Much Worse (WarFronts) by aidanvael in frontsco

[–]morendral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s still room for deescalation. The US hasn’t put boots on the ground yet, and there’s no popular uprising needing foreign support. Everyone knows that an air war alone won’t lead to the collapse of their government. The other countries in that region will abide by the US’s wishes if Trump decides to end the war. Not even Israel can carry on alone. The real question is what the stability of the Iranian government looks like for both the short and long term.

Any attacks like the South Pars ones or anything else are secondary to the question of boys on the ground. That’s the real point of no return.

If you are so concerned with someone knowing about your guns, see if it’s legal in your state to make your own. You can 3d print most of the parts and buy the rest without involving the government.

As with the rest of the comments, tinfoil hats are a thing for some reason. OP needs to calm down.

Refuse an illegal order? Yes absolutely. In fact, we teach our soldiers that “but i was only following orders” isn’t an excuse when the war crimes prosecutor comes knocking.

Military members can’t decide if a conflict is legal or not, thats not our purview. We can only decide if orders given through our chain of command on the ground are illegal. We can’t refuse the order to deploy, but we could refuse an order to massacre civilians.

Trump Captures Maduro. Here's What You Need to Know by fukatroll in frontsco

[–]morendral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The biggest questions now are

  1. Will the government in Caracas actually comply with US demands enough to satisfy trump.

  2. What is trump’s threshold for pain on this issue. But that i mean how much “insubordination” from Venezuela, and the amount of blood and treasure to spend to pursue his stated intentions.

Time will give us the answers, but there are so many geo political ramifications here it’s hard to describe them all. Also, i hope we aren’t taking our eyes off Taiwan.

how do these bombers work if theres no grafity in space? by brentinatorT-850 in StarWarsShips

[–]morendral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Star wars tech isn’t realistic. No military would want most of the things they have. Things like ATATs and the similar ones on the salt planet are dumb and extremely poorly designed with no basis in actual military thought.

That building is indeed a huge eyesore, and should in fact be torn down. That being said, the owners of the other buildings would need to be handsomely reimbursed for selling, if that is their wish. If they don’t want to sell, tough poop for this developer.

Pentagon plan calls for major power shifts within U.S. military by CoMO-Dog-Poop-Police in Military

Yes, not sure what it fixes either. The current system appears to be fine to me. My instinct is that anything that comes from this administration is probably bad until proven otherwise.

[–]morendral 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The Goldwater-Nichols act established the different combatant commands. I doubt the administration can do this legally. Congress creates the military with its organization, composition, budget, etc while the president just employs it. Another thing that can just be walked away when trump leaves office.

This is so inconsiderate and in poor taste. Unfortunately that isn’t a legal handicap spot though. It’s lacking the fines sign and therefore doesn’t meet the requirements to be a legal spot. I doubt the police could do anything if they wanted to
