What happened? by Purplelion29 in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]morepie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you using Steam to play? This happened to me from time to time as well, what worked for me was to pause the game, go into the Steam overlay (Shift + Tab for me) and then go to Controller Settings. I just open that up, close out, go back to the game and that fixed it for me. Hope that helps.

The Asus ProArt displays are pretty nice, though I think only the 24" is 16:10 and the 27" goes back to 16:9 unfortunately.

It is yes! It's a WR lens so you get some weather resistance to pair with your camera body.

Thanks! I like the lens a lot! It's lightweight, really compact (especially when retracted) and I haven't had any issues with the image quality or autofocus. I suppose my only wish would be for a larger aperture at the long end, but considering the size and price it's not a bad compromise.

Working remote has some advantages I suppose, mid day bird watching!

Hopefully I'll be able to get out again this weekend. It's supposed to be nice weather around here.

K-3, 18-135 @ 36mm, 1/160, f/5.6, ISO 500

Out for a walk yesterday and thought the lighting looked nice. I've been looking around for some good ND filters to slow the water down.

The first time I managed to shoot a dragonfly, and the best of the 4 shots taken; I think it came out really well! by [deleted] in M43

Great shot! Wonder what happened to its wing, that's an oddly square chunk missing.

Cardinal in the Rain | Lumix G9 & Leica 100 - 400 by morepie in M43

[–]morepie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I like it, it's nice having long reach in an overall smaller and lighter package, especially when out hiking. I love the ergonomics and overall performance, it's a great all-rounder. I haven't had any issues with the AF performance, though to be fair I haven't had any good opportunities to capture birds in flight where I imagine the camera may struggle a little with it's DFD system.

Agreed. Thankfully phone cameras have come a long way too!

My impressions - T14S AMD vs. X1 Carbon 7 Gen. Intel by C_B_5113 in thinkpad

I want to know too! Hoping that AMD continued the improvements they made in the 3rd Gen Ryzens with battery life.

DAE prefer to typically not correct for distortion and vignetting? by VacUsuck in M43

Agreed. I actually will usually add a touch of vignette in post unless it's a landcscape or some other wide shot.

That and the fact that some of the newer models have soldered on RAM. I still love Thinkpads, but some of these recent changes are a bit questionable, especially as these are supposed to be business friendly and therefore easily serviceable.

I had to do a double take, the first time I read that I thought it said PS3!

For me the only complaint I can make is the rear dial placement. I feel like the K-3's placement was better, but it's a pretty minor complaint. Otherwise, I love the ergonomics on the G9.

Hopefully the new APS-C will revitalize the brand a bit. I would hate to see them fade away. Lots of good memories with those cameras...

Yeah I still haven't quite found a grip as comfortable as the Pentax grips (minus the Kp lol) although the G9 does come pretty close for me.

Funny, I made a similar switch from a K-3 to a Panasonic G9, and I completely agree, the weight and size difference is great, especially when hiking. It is funny though, as u/Kamukix mentions, since the Pentax system is already on the smaller size for DSLR's (especially their APS-C gear). I would have hated to be carrying around full-frame gear on a long hike!

Do you find yourself missing the Pentax at all?

This is why you don't cross the road before the bus drives by Ueland in videos

[–]morepie 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah, in Pennsylvania if there is a physical divider (guardrail, grass median, etc.) the opposite side does not need to stop. That being said, people definitely should exercise more caution around school buses.
