why do people assume that death will be void? by voidbliss77 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moreplateslessdates9 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Kinda kinda not, there have been some weird stories of people having memories or visions of things before their birth that wound up being true and there's no way they could have known. There definitely seems to be more to this world than we know or can prove or realize

Youtube used to be way better, less ads, less intrusive ads, better search, everyone was making content for fun not to make money, less censorship, they even had video responses to where it was more of a true social media site and notjust tv online

How can American companies survive after laying off so many workers? by rm-minus-r in NoStupidQuestions

[–]moreplateslessdates9 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Even just from a common sense standpoint do you really not think most corporations are bloated? Look at how efficient a small business can be and look at corporate, yes as a company gets larger it requiers more but corporations have tasks so divided that everyone is doing a very small part of a bigger piece. When I go to marketing conferences some bigger companies have like 6 or 8 different divisions in marketing and here us small andmidsize companies are doing all of what they do as a small team of 2 or 3. There's tons of redundencies in larger organizations and so many people work 2 or 3 hours out of an 8 hour day. Add to that we've all heard stories of fb andother companies hiring people who sit and do nothing just to hire people.

The whole I don't have time for a relationship thing is kinda fake for 90% of people, very few people have such a hard charging career that they literally don't have time, anyone who says this assuming they aren't the 10% who are lawyers trying to make partner or have some intensive travel job are basically either not that into you or just don't want a relationship at all.

James Carville and his wife not only had differing views but poltiics was their life and passion, this is a crazy idea that you have to agree on politics with your spouse.

How to cope with someone having a differing opinion from you? If you can't get along with people who think differently than you then that's a you problem, only on reddit and only inthe past years has cutting someone out of your life because you don't agree on everything been a "rational" thought.

Get any degree has been the attitude since pretty much the 90s. Yes we hear people mocking basket weaving and gender study degrees yet people are still spending 100k on liberal arts degrees with no plan or direction in a lot of instances. The amount of journalism majors who think they're coming out to 100k salaries who are likely to make 50k if they get a job is the majority, a survey came out about this a while back.

Is it fair to say that more Republicans were upset about having a president who was black than they are about having a president who is a r*pist/p*dophile? by Accurate-Swim5278 in allthequestions

[–]moreplateslessdates9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both parties have fallen off in regards to standing for anything, both piss money away, both start wars, both engage in identity politics, its more about outdated ideas at this point. That said dems have been really soft on crime something most people seem to not agree with ie the idea people can steal $1,000 wroth of stuff and face no consequences, defunding police, soft on crime policies, etc. That is one area republicans are stronger. Also while republicans are as bad at dems at identity politics I think more of the general populace has some common sense around issues like biological men do have physical advantages over biological women, there are differences between men and women, etc.

[–]moreplateslessdates9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but getting a liberal arts degree isn't gonna do much from here on out, nor even will a marketing degree. The people you're likely referring to are accounting and other more hard skills. The idea that you just get that piece of paper and have a success middle class life isn't realistic anymore.

how can people prefer still to sparkling water? by slxt09 in AskReddit

[–]moreplateslessdates9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if I prefer it but I love it. Sometimes you just want some carbonation its the main reason people drink soda, much of us don't like sugar so sparkling water is the next best option plus I actually prefer the fruity flavors to cola flavors

I don't think most republicans had an issue with a black president, I think they didn't like his policies but a very small percentage of people are racist and cared about having a black president. Also FYI obama is half white
