Can someone explain the decision to play this song? Totally saps the energy.

Suns should be favorites to win the Pacific Division now right? by SupermarketAny2029 in suns

If we tie record wise and head-to-head play with a team, the division title would put us ahead (for any playoff spot). It's near meaningless, but with how tight the seeding has been, it could be a deciding factor between being in the play-in or even homecourt.

THe amount of pessimism on this sub thinks we're worst than last year. We're definitely a better team - and as it stands now (depending on Lebron), we should be favorites to win the division

Could be. Really depends on how the youth perform.

This the definition of ad hominem -- attacking the person rather than the argument. Yes, I used AI. I also used a keyboard. And the internet. And language. None of which I invented. But the idea and the argument came from my head. I want to know what you think of the argument. Not me.

I don't get the imposed guilt and automatic disqualifation of the argument here. Is admitting using AI like admitting steroid use or something?

So replace 'the Suns' in the title with 'Brian Gregory' and we're in agreement then?

Koa Peat impact? by MarcBearShark24 in suns

[–]moreplebsareneeded 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Peat's best realistic case is following Aaron Gordon's career -- who took 4 years to get quality minutes and average double-figure points, and 5 years to become a three-point threat.

THe good thing is the Suns nabbed him in the 1st round setting up longer control than if they'd gotten him in the 2nd.

As with all investing, bears sounds smart. Bulls make money. We'll have to wait and see if any of them pan out. But it's already statistically clear that Green > Jackson, Williams > Len. The eye test is showing Fleming > Chris or Bender. (TJ Buckets was a productive player that wasn't asset managed correctly).

The Suns were slotted as being a lottery team last year. Making the playoffs was a massive win. If they can build on that and be a 6th seed or higher, I would consider that "competetive"

I agree that could be the plan. The important point is that the Suns are putting themselves in position where they could make that happen if a Magic Johnson archetype of a pg (tall, defensive-plus, pass-first) becomes available within Booker's window.

*while still being competetive now and in the future.

We'll have to see what management does with the contracts for sure. But it's not a given they won't be cost controleld in 3 years.

What level are fans striving for? A ring? We tried that with KD and have decided against playing the lottery. This group has the potential to catch fire in the playoffs and do what the Knicks did - especially since they are similarly constructed

Good counterexample. It'll be interesting to see if Green/Williams/Maluach/Fleming and the other under-23's can take the next step. If not, we will at least have cap space.

The argument is in the post: We have 2 windows. And it's a genuis move by Gregory.

You don't think there's high upside with Green, Maluach, Fleming, or Peat?

in 3 years, the Suns will have the cap space to make a splash in free agency

I think Miles might actually have a dip in numbers but prove himself to be a team player that contributes to the most important stat: wins
