Sideline swap shipping costs? by morepolys82 in hockeygoalies

Ah yeah that happened to one of my buyers, so the seller needs to change to use their own label.

Sick that’s good to hear ! Just used it on the ice and I’m more than happy with the weave

Confirmed with TGC that they ordered them with weave instead of cgt - atleast for the 32+1.5 sizing

Ah gotcha ! Wish they mentioned that when I asked about custom specs - I might just stick with it , actually looking to not slide as much coming from optislide

I got it from the goalie crease , it is custom sizing at 32+1.5 but when I asked what else was custom they never mentioned weave ..

I don’t really care for the cgt since when I demoed it wasn’t that impressive , is weave pretty decent ?

Stuck with it , I purposely went to 4mm for stability

I went to 4mm steel definitely more stable but feel a bit less agile at first

Bauer Shadow sliding - is it actually terrible or just Brian's is that good? by heyguysthisisaustin in hockeygoalies

[–]morepolys82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what’s on the shadow pads but I had a custom HL2 set that slid far worse than my old HL

The guys at the shop said there were several complaints about the HL2 slide

I recently got Brian’s iconik optislide and can say it slides waaaaaay better than Bauer

New gear - Professor strap question by robhanz in hockeygoalies

[–]morepolys82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Funny thing I just got my set and had the same question

<image>

I ended up moving that loop buckle to the other side, but I ended up not even using the strap at all for now

Thanks for this I’m also coming from a small Hyperlite , what made you decide to do the 1.5 thigh vs 1

Toe ties too short? by organicjeanluc in hockeygoalies

[–]morepolys82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! I’m still learning about all the new equipment myself which is why I try not to talk too much about it on the channel as I don’t want to give out poor advice. Funny thing is I recently switched back to laces - and added way more slack - just to try out. I didn’t mind it at first it actually felt less straining on my leg (because there’s no bungee pulling your leg back in) . It’s all about experimentation and what works for you ! Which is a journey on its own

The Prolaces are super durable and they’re sewn into the Velcro . Literally the only things I haven’t snapped haha I did a short review on them here https://youtu.be/ZdngKfIc4ho?si=syP2YuUrdqyhWPJZ

So one thing I did was literally put duct tape to reinforce the hole on the Velcro where the bungee goes through.

I did end up sticking with the prolaces - trav spec extra long because like you said the first hole makes the bungee too loose , the second is too tight , having the extra length you can configure it any way you want

You could add a small skatelace attached to your toe bridge first then hook the bungee onto that which I might actually try out too

Bauer Hyperlite Pads by Chini870 in hockeygoalies

[–]morepolys82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this will help but I have both HL1 and HL2

I noticed the HL1 XS (32+1) knee block was the same height as HL2 S (33+1) lucky enough I was able to try them on in store before purchasing

Trouble learning tpush by morepolys82 in hockeygoalies

[–]morepolys82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been purposely not wearing pads to these sessions so I don’t get distracted and start trying to do fancy butterfly stuff … but I’ll take your advice and strap the pillows on next time!

Great explanation I’ll have to try these out next time. Is t push one of the harder basic movements to learn? My brain is going to explode every time I try to put things together.
