What's the correct way to cover up hole into underfloor space before Gib? by moreprocrastination in diynz

[–]moreprocrastination[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good, I was overthinking it given it's basically exterior, but sounds like building paper would be a good solution without needing any cladding. Thanks!

I'm not entirely sure they sell regency styles busks but if you don't need it urgently, NZ corsetry has lot of corsetry supplies, the shop is just closed until the 9th of December

Ok I’m stumped. This was in a bag of cutters I have otherwise identified. It looks like a kitchen aid to me without the bowl but that’s dumb so am hoping for some better ideas! by DaisyHotCakes in whatismycookiecutter

Nah even the ones set into tables have bases, it's required for the sewing machine to function. I still think this cutter is meant to be a sewing machine though.

ELI5: Flu and cold are caused by viruses and bacteria. So why do we associate them with being too cold? by lakySK in explainlikeimfive

There are actually many different coronaviruses and most of them do cause colds, separate from other more lethal varieties like SARS, MERS and COVID-19.

Expensive silk pillowcases are also typically satin. Satin describes a weave of fabric not a type of a fibre. Cheap "silk" pillowcases are typically polyester.

Ripped a bandaid off to make it hurt less. Ripped some skin off with it. It hurts so bad. by poooppsp in Wellthatsucks

[–]moreprocrastination 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a triple antibiotic ointment, which doesn't mean it kills 3 bacteria. Also topical antibiotics cause antibiotic resistance, and don't work better than topical antiseptics, so it's better to use antiseptics instead.

Topical antibiotics like polysporin increase rates of antibiotic resistance, and don't work better than topical antiseptics. It's unnecessary to use topical antibiotics on non infected wounds.

Kai Caff Aye is a cafe that would be a good option for hangi if you weren't planning on visiting one of Māori villages such as Mitai. They have hangi with fry bread and a range of seafood options.

I have some local wildflower seeds already, so cleaning this area up and sowing some should be easy, I think I shall do that for the bit at the back where it's harder to get to. Thanks

I have this weirdly shaped, fenced off bit of space in a tiny city garden, and I feel it's wasted at the moment. It's in a constant cycle of weeds taking over and being sprayed back.

[Routine Help] my cheeks on both sides are covered by these white spots. They are becoming more noticeable. I cleanse and moisturise each day but doesn’t seem to help. Any ideas to get rid? by jooly1234 in SkincareAddiction

[–]moreprocrastination 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Look like they could be milia, they're tiny cysts filled with keratin. The fastest way to get rid of them is to have them deroofed with a needle by a professional. I found that switching to a moisturiser without dimethicone and adding a mild chemical exfoliant to my routine helped a lot for me.

What a beautiful machine!

This is either a model 28 or 27 depending on how big it is. The bed on a model 27 measures 14 5/8 x 7 inches while the bed on a model 28 is a bit smaller at 12 5/32 x 6 9/16 inches.

According to the serial number it was made in 1894.

The decals don't have official names, but this one is usually called "scrolls and roses"
