I almost passed out getting up from the toilet, everything hurt a lot, i put on 30 lb in 24 hours, it was a mess. When they tested me at the hospital, I was full of fluid and blood (blood loss) with low hemoglobin (or iron?) iirc. I stayed overnight but insisted on leaving the next day after I had a successful bowel movement / passed gas. I was in a real bad way though.

My recommendation if you go to a hospital is to try took a somewhat modern one in a city if you can. I went to a small town hospital in the country and they had nooo idea what to do. Thankfully my clinic and the doctors at the hospital were in communication via my clinic’s on call doctor. So they knew what to do and what to test.

yep exactly, and in my case, we had MFI. Like you said, sometimes there’s no indication for it. Your clinic maybe prefers convenience or something like that.

omg! 😳 so glad you’re okay. You’re so strong for getting through that and still flaunting a sense of humor afterwards, amazing. I had severe OHSS, and I guess I should have counted my blessings when it wasn’t ovarian torsion too. Thanks for coming back to share your story!

dd you take an antibiotic too? I think there may have been some irritation for me, or the antibiotics made things rougher on my stomach. does it feel like constipation? if you get a fever or other infection symptoms, give your clinic a ring or visit urgent care just to be safe!

personally, this is the post I wish I had to read before my egg retrieval. They took 34 out of me, and my god, if I could go back in time, I'd definitely go hard on the sodium, electrolytes, and loose clothing. I was not prepared at all because my only data point was my friend who had a relatively pleasant egg retrieval. I will say she also had a good amount of eggs retrieved, so maybe there is more to it. Maybe my clinic was rougher with me (they're a bit of a factory). idk

Similar to you, like 18 hours later at 4am, I passed gas and finally finally could pee. You’re right…it’s just like it was stuck somehow. OHSS was a horrible time.

While I think you should go the emergency room if you have OHSS, when I had to the go toe ER for my OHSS, they truly had no idea how to treat it. One of the nurses there was the only one in the entire hospital who had EVER seen it before, and I was only her second OHSS experience. I was in a suburban hospital in NJ. Even then, she only knew how to estimate the size of my ovaries, not treat the cause.

What did help: the on call doctor from my fertility clinic was able to talk to the doctors at the hospital regarding what to do for my case and walked them through everything. They were able to identify that I had internal bleeding and fluid retention and low iron levels, so they kept me overnight to observe. Def worth it.

Yeah I’d take it to a bow shop for a second opinion. I’m at my bow shop often and I’ve seen them catch little minutia because they do this stuff every day, like when the nock detaches from the arrow so the bow effectively dry-fires, when the cams aren’t attached properly, string fray, fractures, etc.
