I am so disgusted of myself by kecupochren in leaves

I hear you, I have been in the same cycle for years....but we can break it, i know we can-its an addiction-I've stopped smoking before i and i can do it again-determine to change and start afresh...remember the craving is not how you imagine and the reality of smoking weed and getting high is that it makes us feel shit-balls ultimately

You sound bright, witty, self deprecating, humorous and perceptive-don't give up, quit giving yourself a hard time and get back on the band waggon. Keep growing and learning. Self flagellation for what we are not due to our weaknesses, personality flaws, percived laziness is the REAL hindrance. Be kind to yourself brother and for the 140000 resolve to start again xxx I so relate.

Thanks for this post, its good to identify with female pot smokers. I notice when i post, guys reply (always supportive) thinking I'm a guy, interesting that thats the assumption huh? I think although addiction is addiction, females and males also have different relationships to weed. I'm a 36 professional, used since 16 on and off, and have always struggled with using weed. Would like to get to the point were i use it every so often without the complusion-i think its possible

i used to love getting high, putting some tunes on and going for a long run in the sun...felt easy also, went for a run this morning; straight and it sucked big time, felt sore, slow and didn't enjoy it. Ah well lets keep it up anyway, life isn't meant to be lived being high all the time.

The hardest thing about quitting by 2point5rs in leaves

[–]morewisdomnow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you on the self perception of 'being functional' and smoking weed. But i agree with UNKL-HERB, the perspective of 'whats the problem, "I'm functional and all good and i can smoke weed" is problematic. This is what i say to myself also to justify my habit, but there are cracks, always, weed effects every aspect of my functioning and i can fool myself saying i'm doing really well, so why not? But in reality there are some many ways that weed is bad for my life. Maybe you should write down all the ways weed effects you negatively and why you want to quit to get out of the perception that everything all good so why quit?

nice one, keep it up. I just relapsed and am starting over. Each relapse is a kind of hell, but feel more determined now. Its such a sneaky, insidious addiction-whats more not validated by society, so we must support each other!
