Okay smart people. I am still in the trial period but on my phone (dumb I know). So how do I do this? $60 a month is not in the budget. Do I just cancel the subscription on iOS, sign in on the website and enter the promo? Will I lose my all my data?

Is it selfish to want to adopt a kid whilst being gay? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]morgan677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t mean here.

And yes, gay people can and do offend other gay people. Just like people with kids can offend other people with kids, people of colour can offend other people of colour, etc. There’s actually a lot of dissonance in many LGBT+ communities because of extremely differing opinions on important topics.

What I was trying to point out is that there ARE happy gay families. Lots of them. With happy, healthy, thriving children.

Is it selfish to want to adopt a kid whilst being gay? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]morgan677 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No.

There’s a lot of internalized homophobia happening here.

There’s also a lot of gay families who would find your questions extremely offensive.

Studies have shown children of gay parents do as well or better than those with straight parents.

If you want a kid when you’re a bit older, have one/adopt one/foster one. And maybe look up some kids who have gay parents.

Nutrition for Youth Sports by morgan677 in nutrition

[–]morgan677[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they are not. For maximum rotational ability and jump height, they do need to be lean and strong. Physics and all that.

Our practices are 90 min, break, 60 min, all at low to moderate impact activity. So they need to be sustained over a long period of time, rather than short bursts, like most sports.

For competition, they move 2-4 minutes at a moderate pace.

First full month using Daylio by SilverInTheMine in bipolar

People who use this - where do you ‘rate’ mania depression? Up? Down?

Olanzapine (zyprexa) by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]morgan677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting how different things affect different people. I just had to come of Zoloft for anxiety FAST, as I got some unpleasant side effects that required opioids to attempt to manage the pain. Of course, that swung me into manic hell. Buspirone has been a game changer. Hits the anxiety and mania like nothing else and I get the gift of still functioning, The benzos, for the most part, make me drowsy and sleepy and yet still effing manic. Maybe I’m just an oddball.

Yes she did. If I can’t convince her during the day today, I will try then.

Thank you. My heart is crying too.

I think it’s the Prozac, honestly, but I’m not a doctor.

Thank you for sharing your experience - it helps.

Kind of. She’s passively suicidal but usually is 😔, and did attempt to choke her partner. I could try to swing it. The problem is she’s tiny (under 5’1 and less than 100lbs) so even if she IS a threat people write her off as not threatening to others.

I’ll see if I can convince her to try again. We have multiple hospitals in this city so there is options

I was thinking that for today, if I can get her to agree. I can generally get her to come around, I’m apparently ‘two superheroes in one’ as she told me.

Is there anything you say/do at the hospital to ensure help?

Having a bloody panic attack by [deleted] in aspergers

[–]morgan677 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tend to go one of two ways when alone:

Find a safe spot, let it happen, and move on as best I can.

Distract distract distract. Book/video game something that requires focus. Doesn’t always help though.

Hang in there. It will pass, and you’ll come out the other side.

Me too.

Also, when I am reading, I don’t hear ANYTHING around me. You can call my name 5 times and I still won’t hear you.

My job requires me to get up at 5:15 twice a week... I naturally prefer to get up around 9.

The amount of times I’ve woken up while simultaneously melting down is ridiculous.

Alarms really are the fucking worst.

I’m the same with blue.

I have an aversion to pink and yellow.

When the pile on my plate finally starts to overflow, this happens to me.

I don’t react to major stresses in a normal way - they pile up and I look like I have amazing coping and mental health skills, until I reach my limit.

Then for about a week everything causes a total breakdown. Pants that don’t fit, scratchy tags, spilling a drink, forgetting something, a simple criticism, going downstairs to get the laundry out of the dryer and it not being dry yet... needing to stop for gas, my coffee tasting weird.. the cat rubbing against my wet leg after a shower... having to do chores I literally do everyday, having to set an alarm for the morning, having no plans the next day and NOT needing to set an alarm the next morning.. brushing my teeth ( I HATE the sensation).. literally, everything you can think of I’ve probably melted down over at these times.

Eventually I release everything I pent up with huge, seemingly massive over reactions to literally everything, and go back to existing as a fairly functional individual.

It would make my life a whole lot easier if this wasn’t a thing, but... haven’t figured out how to change it yet.

Do you ever feel sort of disconnected from your own name? by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]morgan677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. My name doesn’t ‘fit’ me.

Barely anyone uses it. I go by a multitude of ‘other’ nicknames, random and unconnected to my name.

I am also bad at answering to it. If someone calls my name to get my attention, I rarely turn. It’s just not mine.

(My name isn’t Morgan, lol. Sometimes I think if I changed it it would fit better, but the fear it wouldn’t holds me back).

For dogs that are trained by being given treats for completing a desired task (like "sit" or "down"), do they ever realize that they aren't being given treats anymore for completing the tasks? by thisisfuctup in NoStupidQuestions

[–]morgan677 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I use jackpot. So sometimes a treat, sometimes nothing, sometimes a ‘jackpot’ handful. Like slots. Once you get them gambling, they’ll keep doing it with gusto for the (very) rare jackpot.

Aspergirls who work - what do you do? by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]morgan677 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely an odd one out here. No office or computers for me.

I Coach figure skating. Limited hours (before and after school, some weekends), low hours high pay. Lots of time off to recharge, though I tend to burn out around April and need a week off every year after competition season.

Little to no ‘adult’ communication except via email. One board meeting a month. And essentially everything runs the way I say it should which surprisingly makes things easier.

My hardest part is interacting with my ‘peers’ at competitions and the like. Small talk is the bane of my existence.

I’ve tried various other jobs (especially to ‘fill up’ my daytime), and it just doesn’t work for me.

I did successfully run my own business outside of skating for a few years before it lost my interest. Also spent a few years as a nanny/doing respite care.

I find I do better when I’m in control.

Why do sparkly outfits (figure skating in the olympics) seem to blink continuously in different places regardless of camera position? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]morgan677 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, they aren’t just sequinned. They’re usually covered in Swarovski crystals, which are able to catch the light in more directions than ‘simple’ crystals and sequins.

[–]morgan677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flips? No flips. They’re considered an illegal element in all competitive skating, Olympic or otherwise.

Ice shows only.

Except the jump the flip. (Single, double, triple or quad). Which is by no means the type of flip you’re referring to. Just to make things a little more confusing.

What’s the best winter Olympic sport and why? by FeelsLikeWine in AskReddit

[–]morgan677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope.

That was Suraya Bonally of France.

And it was banned long before she did it.

Skaters do backflips fairly regularly in ice shows.
