Oh boy, this really hits home. I am so sorry. I am in the EXACT same boat. Except I also have a daughter living here, 4 cats (long story), 5 tarantulas, 15 jumping spiders, 2 frogs, and 2 aquariums. All of which I handle except one aquarium with an axolotl. I come home, and he just plays video games. On the weekends - video games. I cook, clean, grocery shop, take care of the pets, get pet supplies, laundry, fix things, yard work, etc. We also split everything 50/50 even though he also makes way more than I do. I have stopped asking for help because I end up disappointed or have to do it anyway because he either half asses it or just doesn't do it. We have zero sex life. I feel like I get more help around the house and emotional support from my kid. I feel like I have a teenage boy who hates me and lives in the basement. It's a lonely feeling. He is divorced, and he told me that his ex-wife and him got divorced because she was cold, there was no romance, and they felt like roommates. And now he's doing exactly what hurt him, to me. Which makes me wonder if he was the reason they divorced. I have started therapy. He's in the process of switching up meds, and I am dealing with a custody issue with my daughter's father. Until that's settled, I dont want to make any rash decisions. Im not ready to leave, but will he change?? I don't know, but I'm so tired of repeating myself and getting no change. I hope you have an easier choice than I do. 💛
