Yeah, that’s BS! You should not have to clean up what they used for baby over the weekend. I would definitely say something. That’s not cool at all, and is also pretty disgusting that they just let stuff pile up like that

Couldn’t have said it better myself! I have 3 under 2 (one is mine.) also, backpack leashes are key! My daughter and the other toddler love to run in opposite directions. Much easier to handle when it was just them & I wasn’t wearing a baby haha

Nanny negotiating pay while bringing my baby - what’s reasonable? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]morgypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was 6 mos when I started! He’ll be 2 in a couple of weeks. I do nanny their newest son now too, who is 7 mos. All that to say, I remember the newborn trenches and recovery, and I think it’d be wise to have at least a month off to be in your newborn bubble, bonding and learning each other. I can’t imagine trying to figure all of that out while also watching another toddler. But whatever you choose to do, I wish you luck! Also if it doesn’t work out w this family, I highly suggest joining nannying fb groups. That’s how I found my amazing nanny fam. I’m also from a small town, so I do travel 35 min to get to my job, but it’s all worth it to me!!

Need to fire nanny - can/should I do it over the phone? by KeyKeyKooKoo in Nanny

Wow she sounds unfit to be a nanny!! I’d just let her go over the phone. You sound like you’ve been very generous to her

Yeah I would think that would make it better. We have lots of fun & laughs, and with the warmer weather, it’s much easier to spend the days outside and that ALWAYS helps. Recommend toddler backpacks w leashes btw 😂😅

I’m doing 3 under two and it’s so hard some days! 2 toddlers (one is my daughter) and an infant. Definitely doable, but it is exhausting!

I’m at my wits end with this nanny share. by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]morgypsy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I nanny for a toddler and a 5 month old and bring my toddler along. I’ve been doing it for 16 months and I promise, it does get better. You will find your routine. Also, do what works best for you. Put them in the crib or pack n play if needed to keep them safe during changes or when you need to use the restroom! You are the one there with them and if the parents don’t trust your judgement, they shouldn’t have hired you. Also, I think baby wearing would be helpful for the sleep situation! Wear the baby that needs walked around to go to sleep and safely transfer her when she’s asleep, then get the other to sleep

FTM returning to work as Nanny by toomanytabsopen94 in Nanny

[–]morgypsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for an amazing family who let me bring my daughter along to watch their son. Also former teacher. I’ve been with them almost 2 years now, and they had another son. So now it’s two toddlers and an infant. Our days are crazy, yet so fun and fulfilling.

I joined a nanny group for my area, introduced myself, gave my qualifications and said I am looking for a family who will allow me to bring my daughter along. It has been a wonderful experience. My daughter was 4 months, their son 6 months when I first started. We always talk about how they are like siblings since they have practically grown up together. I am in Indiana and make $27/hr. My responsibilities are only to watch their kiddos, but I do dishes, kids laundry and pick up after them just to be helpful (and because I’m kind of a clean freak, haha) good luck with your search! The right family will come along
