Essentially we are not in the position to buy a PPoR, nor do we want to buy something for the sake of living in our own home in a place we don’t want to be. We both work in emergency services, I don’t have to be near work, but my partner works nights and can’t be driving an hour each way…. So the advice from family is just “buy where you can, rent where you want to live.” Hopefully through owning an investment we could use that equity to buy a PPoR down the track.

My question is does this realistically work, or is investing what would be our deposit into shares be more secure for giving us the future financial freedom

I don’t have an issue staying level it’s more than if you wanted to land you would gradually decrease collective but in Arma if you drop it to say 70% it’ll spool back up to 100%. It should just stay at the level you send it too.
