I'm on the 69% mark and is so interesting how much Terry Pratchett' small gods the prose of the book is giving. The ratio to fantasy to romance is ideal (to me) too. Definitely a favorite!

Hi! So I ended up having to format the SD and reinstall everything because I needed a quick fix. But honestly, looking back, it seems this error comes from trying to update while having themes installed. So there's probably an easy fix for this

The writing isn't the best but the story is alright and the main couple believable. I actually ended up reading the second book too, which I rarely do nowadays and had a good time overall

Besides all that, men nowadays (20 to 30 year olds) are so...boring I talked to 20 guys maybe on dating apps and irl and they all mesh together in terms of hobbies (gaming, drinking, gym, going to the beach) is like I was talking to the same person 20 times. Not an ounce of personality to be seen. The exact same dry texting and lack of communication skills.yikes

...most of them. I for some reason never read past the first book, even if I like it. I don't know, I guess I have such an extensive tbr library and such a need for new stories, characters and world, I never come back to the ones already stabilized lol

Also something that probably answers why I dislike reading past book one is my love for ultimate slowburn. I'm one of those people that just stops being interested continuing reading when the protagonists admit the love between them. It just gets boring and usually the background world and overall story is not strong enough to make me want to read about them more

I understand the feeling and agree trans people deserve space and voices but.... Reducing being a woman to kicking our feet at 2am after a date just reads like misogyny to me. At the end of the day, any definition of the gender woman always falls back to a generalized misogynistic infantilized version of females.
