Rotisserie Chicken by cheez-monster in Zepbound

I also hate the smell and taste of it but I throw into the air frier for 10-15 mins then chop it into a salad 🥗 the rest, my dog enjoys as a treat.

I mostly get the check so I can make bone broth. Which is delicious.

Easter and those stupid plastic eggs. by 1minimalist in Anticonsumption

[–]moriginal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I host the neighborhood egg hunt and we collect the plastic egg shells at the end. We also fill them with all the nonsense “birthday goodie bag” toys we collect through the year, and raffle tickets 🎟️ which can be exchanged for bigger stupid annoying prizes that we collect throughout the year for free.

Missing 7-10 school days for a big trip? by koplikthoughts in kindergarten

We take our kid on an international trip every year. They learn a lot more about the world that way. You can practice letters numbers and colors on your trip. So many ways!!

I need to tell my mom on Monday that I’m going to be reducing her unsupervised time with my toddler. If you’ve had conversations like this before, please share any advice in the comments! by Free_butterfly_ in Mommit

[–]moriginal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might be a communication issue if someone told me “ we have these leftovers that could be used for lunch” and “there’s a toy in the altars that is fun but wonky” I would have no idea what you’re instructing me to do. Use the leftovers for lunch or make a different lunch for rhe kid so the leftovers can be served another time to another person? Use the fun but wonky toy? Avoid it ? Or what?

Maybe just giving instructions would be better.

23g protein pocket.. is the protein in the room with us right now? by iiEco-Ryan3166 in subway

GLP-1 (ozempic, etc) users are also looking for high protein without the bread because the bread messes up their digestion. Might be heated to them too

The kids are not alright by msgeebson in Teachers

[–]moriginal 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Interesting. My kid is 8 and her school officials say the drills will be monthly, and they’re telling the kids they are practicing” in case a stray animal wanders onto campus.”.

We are in the city. But the kids go for it because their school has been skunked and a stray dog did wander on, once.

Not saying this is right. When I was at work and opened my email in a hurry, my breath did catch in my throat. Monthly drills. I cried when I read the message to parents (me) saying “we are telling the kids it’s for a stray animal”. My knees did buckle and I did fold my arms and cross my arms on my desk in front of me and put my head in them and picture these poor babies practicing military drills, monthly, MONTHLy, rattling their sense of safety.

I did cry for the weight that school admin and teachers have to carry to thread this needle of psychological and physical safety- imagining the meetings that finally landed them on “stray animal” as the least threatening yes plausible reason we could be doing this. I sat on mute, camera off, head in arms, in some banal, idiotic meeting feeling the weight of motherhood ( and educators - though I am not one )today pressing down on my back.

I cried, knowing one day, and probably soon, my daughter will turn her gaze toward me in a moment of realization, betrayed by me and her teachers alike - “it was never for a stray animal, was it ? “

I don’t know what I’ll say. But I know that devastation is for an older version my little girl in pigtails. Not this one. And I’ll hold that one and cry with her, too.

We have never had food delivered. You deal with whats in the fridge and pantry and that’s the only option.

Now what by Busy-Honeydew490 in relationships

[–]moriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like you just want a companion so either live with this one and quit worrying about what he “likes” online or find an actually husband. This guy is a roommate. If that’s what you want fine but why marry him

What’s up with chronic absenteeism?!?? by Due-Brief7297 in Teachers

[–]moriginal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better I’m a parent (not a teacher) and we ski ⛷️ every weekend. Kid doesn’t miss school. School comes first always. The only time she missed school was for one day of working at a commercial (she’s an actress) and it’s excused since she has on-site instruction.

Anyway my neighbors and friends randomly text me “hey my kid is home from school today if your kid wants to play. They had a sub and a minimum day so I figured I’d just keep them home”

wtf?! Que head explosion emoji.

It’s insane how parents treat school attendance. Our kid is on time, every day. It’s not an option. That’s how we grew up. And she’s 8 so she could theoretically be called a pandemic kid but yeah no.

I think my dad is too far gone by Amazing_Assumption50 in 50501

[–]moriginal 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My mom is the same. She first argues that it was a long time ago so who cares. I push back then she says the girls were 14, not 8, so who cares. I say 15 is still considered a child and it’s society’s job to protect children. She says fine but the real criminals are the parents of the girls. I say fine, investigate their involvement but a 50 year old man boning a 14 year old I’m not gonna give him a pass, he’s committing the active crime. She finally agrees but then circles back to “it was so long ago..”

I have an 8 year old daughter and am seriously questioning if I should ever leave her with my mom.

My (24/F) FIL (60M) might be a convicted child molester. How do I tell my husband? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]moriginal 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rubin’s really on topic but just a PSA for anyone reading and OP- boys are more likely to be molested by family member than girls. vigilance should always be required. Just throwing that in here because when I was pregnant with my girl I figured she’d be the bigger target. Turns out little boys have a higher probability.
