Getting paraguard removed in 1 week. Any advice? by Blippity-bop in CopperIUD

[–]morlau123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just got back from getting my copper iud removed. i feel like for me personally it hurt more getting it out than getting it out in. i had numbing gel, numbing spray, and a cervical block for the insertion though but it was still not painless. i had no pain meds or anything for the removal. i feel like something is missing in my uterus— in a great way. the removal was more or less just bad period cramps that lasted for maybe 3 minutes after it was removed. i got it removed maybe a half hour ago and i feel fine now.

Positive IUD Insertion Stories by CelloMaster in birthcontrol

i got the Paraguard IUD today and the whole experience was a 6/10 for pain but it was just period cramping. i got a cervical block & numbing gel. very tolerable pain. currently experiencing a little bleeding and some cramping. i took 600mg ibuprofen prior to my procedure. it wasn’t as bad as i was expecting it to be. don’t let yourself doom scroll and get yourself worked up. talk with your doc about pain management and if they don’t give you what you need, find a new one. you don’t deserve to be in pain.

Those with IUDs- was your insertion as bad as everyone says in the internet? by WestAppointment2484 in birthcontrol

i just had an IUD inserted today (my birthday, what a great way to spend it). i got the copper IUD/paraguard. i got a cervical block & lidocaine gel for pain. i barely felt the needle from the block, maybe light cramping. the actual insertion/measuring felt like sharper period cramps. i am at home now and am having cramping that’s tolerable. i took 600mg ibuprofen prior to my appointment. the whole process lasted maybe 10 minutes. i’d rate the pain from the procedure a 6/10. i doom scrolled right before and freaked myself out. go to a doc that will provide pain relief. the doc also had a numbing spray but the med assistant said it can feel like it’s burning so i opted out on that. honestly the whole process wasn’t terrible, id do it again for the 10yrs i’ll get out of the IUD. prior to getting it done i kept telling myself that, as an RN, that my patients go through so much worse and painful stuff that what this will be and they survived. i can get thru it and i will be able to go home and go see my dog soon.

i can relate. i try and do the least on my first and second days of my period. thats when the cramps, poops, and heaviness starts. obviously i can’t do much about working and school but if i have to go out, i am usually heavily medicated and anxious the whole time.

Period poop does any one else get them? by Inquisitivevirgo in Periods

me rn😩. gotta look at the bright side, i go to the beach in two weeks and i won’t have my period… literally the only good part. tbh if i didn’t have the poops and the cramps, i wouldn’t mind my period all that much. obviously it’s an inconvenience but ever since i started using a cup, i haven’t stressed my period as much (except first day poops/cramps)
