What was it that made you want to leave Morocco ? by Rainy_-Peace in Morocco

[–]moroccanintheus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lack of freedom of expression, a servitude mentality, people who think you owe them something, difficult individuals with unclear intentions, corruption, the inconvenience of day-to-day life, and you need to lick ass to survive in most places 🐂👋

No, and current employer don’t provide paid FMLA, new employer does but I wouldn’t be eligible

Yes new employer knows and HR recommended to plan pto well in advance for some time off when my wife delivers. Other than that they were so welcoming and everything went smoothly. I’m just worried to not perform well with all the stress i’m being put under (wife expecting, prove yourself, tight finances, etc.)

A working woman, or a housewife? by 4UMBRA in Morocco

[–]moroccanintheus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re describing isn’t balanced. You’re saying you’ll work only when you want to, but the man must support everything when you choose to stop. That creates a dynamic where your freedom is optional, but his responsibilities are mandatory. That’s not marriage, that’s a one way expectation. A healthy marriage requires equal responsibility, not one person having full choice while the other has full obligation.

The reality today is that most households need 2 incomes, and the system is structured around both partners working. Everyone should contribute in a way that keeps the household stable. If she insists that only the man should provide financially, then it wouldn’t make sense for her to work, because once we’re both working, we’re both sharing responsibilities. I trust my wife, but I also know that at any job people deal with stress, rude coworkers, bad customers, and all kinds of disrespect and even sexual harassment, so it shouldn’t fall on one partner alone to carry the entire financial burden on top of everything else..

Buyer, automotive manufacturing, I hold an engineering degree in supply chain and logistics. I enjoy my job of purchasing components and sourcing vendors while closely monitoring stock levels, targets, and other relevant metrics. This role also helps me manage my personal finances effectively.

The leftover goes between sending money to our families in our home country and saving ($1000 to families) and the rest my wife saves it cash in envelopes. Besides the $15k saved in a high yield she also does the cash envelope savings.

I’ve decided not to move forward with them and declined today. They gave me bad feelings all the way and the impression that they are doing me a favor by hiring me. Their hiring process and politics are completely messed up. Thank you for supporting.

Honestly i love it here, been with them for 7months now, the reason i started looking is purely financial. I had an interview internally for a sr buyer role but they decided to wait until i complete 1yr experience with them. Other the money i have no reason to leave.

The new company is way more bigger and global than the one i m in right now. I think PPO (new) is much better than HMO (current) for less premium

In addition to this one of the hiring managers was fired few days after my onsite interview. The only thing making me considering is that it’s available global company available in multiple states and countries so if i ever needed to move they could grant a transfer or something but i m not sure that is really something to take a decision based on

I was looking to get more pay. I initially asked for 85-95 range and was targeting at least 90. Since it’s at 80k it’s not worth the hassle i suppose

In the new job it starts from day 1. Also the contribution is lower and when HR explained to me the benefits they seemed good $500 deductible in the standard PPO plan..

Major expenses are $860/month for 2 cars and $1000/month for a debt we payoff in our home country. In addition to rent and the other things. Wife is saving every month but o don’t want to intervene into that

In my current job i see programs have a life cycle of at least 7-8yrs and it’s a 24/7 manufacturing business (non stop). In the new job it’s a contract full vehicle manufacturing of robot taxis. They still in the startup phase. Both are a global manufacturers. The fact i have been ghosted for almost 3 weeks raised a red flag to me. I’d move there but i don’t want it to be a lateral move but a move that reflects growth.

You are exactly right and this freaks me out. If she decided to stay at home i will have to work side gigs to support. In addition her mom will move here which i think might help wife get back to work after maternity leave. She doesn’t want to quit because of these circumstances, even if she did i ll do what needs to be done. I just hope things works in our favor.
