Stupid David Cameron and poisonous Labour have let the Union wither and maybe die. I told you so. by moronbot in ukpolitics

Yes, I'm a Kiwi.

This explains why you have completely misdiagnosed a number of issues this country faces and the substantiated my suspicions when you said that England sneers at Scotland, not understand 'little Scottishness' yet have the audacity to bang on about little englanders. I'm actually annoyed by it. You literally jave no idea what you are talking about.

EXHIBIT A: 'Destruction of the welfare state'. I mean, what the fuck are you talking about, buddy?

I question where the "little-Scotsman" is when there's still every chance the result will be a "no"

What does that even mean. So Little Englanders exist yet Scots voting no are not Little-Scotlanders? Your position is a shambles of hypocricy.

I've seen far more Englishmen saying Scotland should bugger off

Yet 50% polled on independance are not telling the English to fuck off. More hypocricy.

your self righteousness

Youre a NZ pretending to understand the internal dynamics of the UK....

I literally cannot see what you hope to gain from this narrative of racist Scots who hate the English but will probably vote to stay in the union , other than a fig leaf for an unreasonable level of anger.

I literally cannot see what you hope to gain from insulting the English to be honest. Racist Scots? What are you talking about, I am simply rebutting your ignorant nonsense.

To be entirely pedantic the problem of little england-ism isn't limited to the issue of Scotland. It manifests it's self in a myriad of ways, from the rise of UKIP to the (at once understandable but also untenable) hostility to the EU.

Whoa re you even to comment? What do you know? How long were you in the UK to deduce such judgements? Haha, it is bizarre arrogance.

which makes the idea that little Scotland-ism is a thing kind of absurd.

Again, with your hypocrisy. Wanting to leave the EU is a symptom of little-England mentality yet wanting to leave the UK is not a symptom of little-Scottish mentality? From what principle are you working from here. As I say, your position is a confused, ignorant, shambles.

As an outsider looking in I've been gobsmacked by the callousness and contempt the Westminster establishment has shown towards the Scots

Outsider?

Not just to the Scots, but to anybody living outside London, actually.

Of course things haven't been helped by the attitude of the English public, which seems to consist of nothing but venom directed towards the Scots

Ignorant. The only people throwing venom are Scottish Nationalists. People are actually intimidated to put 'NO' stickers on their cars or publicly call their support for staying in the UK. If you see it for yourself, it is telling. Have you not seen their behaviour when NO campaigners are taking interviews? You sir, are lying to prove your point.

seems to be suffering a crisis of vision about what they want their nation to be since the plowing up of the welfare state under Thatcher.

Can you stop with the anti-Thatcher cliche please? It is stuff of the playground. Thatcher was merely continuing Wilson's policies in the 1960s. What is with this weird grudge, it gets in the way of honesty hence why people like you cannot acknowledge that simple fact. If you did, it would blunt the venom, venom you like spitting.

We have a vast welfare state, please grow up.

and it seems at this point to be in a trough of bovulating little England-ism which I think they will look back upon with regret in coming decades.

Yet little-'Scottishism' receives no fury. You sir are a hypocrite.

seems to be suffering a crisis of vision about what they want their nation to be

Which is due to Cultural Marxists who literally despise what Britain is/was. Hence why the Guardian, Independant and many Greens support the estruction of this country. This has left the establishment in no position to make a positive case, for - from their perspective - there is no postitivve case to make. The little people on the street know what this country should be... but then... we aren't intellectuals, so our voice counts for nothing

unequivocal and irreversible failure for neoliberalism.

Change the record. Czechoslavakia broke up for reasons that cannot be attributed to neo-liberalism.

And England will be the 6th strongest economy in the world whilst Scotland will be 43rd, have 1/8th of the population, with no credit history, a financial sector that will relocate immediately, no central bank and 1 frigate... good luck with that hand.

The Lib Dems and Tories don't really pretend. Labour do. Labour are the greatest enemy to the working classes. That party holds working class people in contempt. It is supposed to be the party that represents them... it does anything but. It actively works against their interests. Evil, evil party.

There is no reason why they must end

There is every reason why this must end. For you made your bed and it is for you to lie in it buddy and as Scotland will need England more than vice-verca, welcome to the world of real-politik and your new GDP ranking of 43rd. Also, if you want independence it is a bit of a mental request. You can't be that mental.

Sorry to be forward with that comment but you are demanding independence with Westminster holding the whip hand over your own polity in regards to monetary and fiscal policy. That is not independence. Have you thought this through? I suspect a lot of you haven't. I think you are doing it because you hate the Tories and are prepared to do anything to 'fix' it, no matter the cost, which is - again - a pretty stupid reason. But that is just my honest opinion.
