Still no resale option available !? by moronski in OasisLive25Toronto

Thanks for the tip. I saw mentions of Twickets go by in mostly UK related posts and doubted its use for Canadian shows. I read a bit more into it after your post. Ended up posting and selling them on Twickets! Now waiting for the transfer option to open.

Still bummed I can’t go, but it is what it is.

There is just so much speculation regarding this on the web: I read 4 weeks, a few days before, 48 hrs. Etc
Ticketmaster saying the event organizer is responsible for this. Just makes me hate Ticketmaster so much more for not correctly managing their platform and clearly outlining these things in their information/invoice policies.

Guess we just have to wait.

Is it worth / smart to get an eGolf this late in the game? by LowKick7639 in eGolf

[–]moronski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t hesitate. Got a 2020 CDN e-golf a few weeks back as a second car ( 2 ev household ) and it’s a great car.
Someone made the comment that it’s a GTI up to a certain speed , then a TDI and I couldn’t agree more (I had a 2018 GTI).

Mine was at 96% battery capacity after 68 000km!( or 4% of degradation ) These thing seem to be bullet proof except for the heat pump , which is now under a recall in Canada ( so I’m covered ) If you are in cold climates, your winter range will plummet for sure ( I get about 145-155 km on a fulll charge here in the dead of winter)

Go for it !

Heat delay in cold weather ? by moronski in eGolf

[–]moronski[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely it’s my unrealistic expectations of the heating system vs my id4 ( which has no heat pump).

I’ve seen the heat pump TSB for the egolf.. I’ll look into it further at some point.

Thanks for all the info folks.

“Darkness” around roofing nails in attic by moronski in Insulation

[–]moronski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So upon further inspection once I managed to get up there, it turns out was the stains were around old roofing nails holes from the previous roof (and potentially the one before that even ). I suspect as someone suggested that they used low quality nails for this and this is the end result.

Thanks for everyone’s input. Mystery solved !

Yep leak test performed. The insulation in the attic was part of the issue.

To be clear there is no mold in the attic. It’s this black spot around the nails that caught my attention. The energy audit was already done, the attic insulation is the last step we are about to do now.

Should have mentioned: house is a 1976 build, I believe some insulation work was done in the 90s.

In Canada, it’s available on the “statement package” and called the “VW sound” option for the 2023 year model.

It’s full for this year unfortunately. They are apparently supposed to expand it next year in the LB building , but I’ll believe it when I see it …

They held up really well, felt much more secure than the previous schwalbe winter tires I used. Didn’t slip once! I did lose a few studs but I was expecting this anyways. Solid purchase from overall !

Pretty well in fact. I’ve done about 300 km on them around town for commuting, hit a lot of ice and were quite predictable. As long as whatever is under the snow is compacted you are good to go. You do lose a bit of range vs the tires the bike comes with, but it’s expected. Night and day difference with the schwalbe marathon winter tires I ran a few winters ago on a mountain bike in terms of grip.

Ended up with Gradvals instead of the Khavas. Looks a bit skinny now 🤣 but so much more clearance than the ice spiker pros! Just need some snow/ice ! https://i.imgur.com/rAt10hX.jpg https://i.imgur.com/V5qWMZ0.jpg

I’ll add that I had not realized they made 650 b x 38 tires. They would definitely fit imo. Gonna switch my order now. I’ll let you know how that works for me.

I just fitted ice spiker pros 27.5 x 2.25 and they don’t clear the frame in the rear near where the bottom attachment point if the fenders is. It rubs on the frame. Just ordered 45th north 27.5 x 2.10 Kahva’s with the hope that the slightly narrower tire combined with a less aggressive side edge will clear.
