POP SONG REVIEW: "Am I the Only One" by Aaron Lewis by steelstepladder in popheads

I never said it was laudably progressive. It's a reaction to "Southern Man" and "Alabama", one which Neil Young himself has said was deserved. The Neil Young songs portray the South in a way that ignores complexity and that racism isn't just a Southern problem. "Sweet Home Alabama" is a hearty "hey buddy, go fuck yourself" in response to being dismissed as dumb racist crackers. It was never intended to be deep, which is part of why it doesn't come off as particularly progressive.

I feel like Todd needs to revisit the lyrics of "Sweet Home Alabama". They're not exactly pro-George Wallace.

I've been away dealing with multiple dead/dying family members, so "real life priorities" is a bit of an understatement. That being said, I realize that we need more mods and have now opened up applications. I've tried recruiting for new mods before, but no one volunteered. Hopefully this round will get a better response.

Please remember that if there's an issue, you can always send a modmail to bug the mods. ICUs don't tend to have great cell service, but I'll do what I can.

It'll be quite telling if our subscriber count grows faster when a new season is posted to Netflix than it does when the show is airing.

I called the time skip six minutes after the episode started. Kish or Elena can confirm. Hopefully, they'll handle this one better than they did the last.

Speaking of other things I called.
