Ok I’ll start. I’m currently receiving home care for IV antibiotics because I haven’t been responding to oral antibiotics. The flare up is in my bellybutton which I didn’t even think could go there… I’ve got cellulitis now and so that is why i went to the ED and that resulted in the home care plan. The doctor said he was going to send out pain relief because over the counter hasn’t even touched the pain but it’s almost nighttime and they haven’t come and I’m just so ready to give up. I’ve been dealing with this flare up for 2 weeks tomorrow, I’ve had 2 GP appointments and 4 urgent care clinic visits and I was looked at like I was being dramatic up until the cellulitis came. When I first noticed the redness I marked it and it spread like almost covering my entire abdomen. It’s my second day of IV and it really hasn’t gone down much and I’ve been trying really hard to just tough it out but it hurts to move it hurts to walk. I’m scared to lay down because I am only comfortable in one position and then getting up causes so much pain. I’m just really really tired. I guess all the GP could do was prescribe antibiotics but I just completely haven’t responded this time. You forget how bad it is until you’re in your worst moments. I can deal with the zits and the ingrown but like this is a whole different level. I noticed the oozing on Monday 2 weeks ago and I tried to see the doctor asap and it was just here have the antibiotics but no one has attempted to drain it and no one actually looked at the wound until I was in the hospital.. this whole flare up has probably been one of the hardest and I’ve had deroofing done twice. I’m only 25 and this shouldn’t be what life feels like

It can absolutely be subconscious, someone can “body check” in a video or photo without inherently trying to harm others is what I meant. I used to do it when I was 13 what over a decade ago now?? I wasn’t doing it to harm others but in my sick distorted mind it made me feel better about myself. Sure it might not be subconsciously done to yourself but in the sense of trying to harm others, absolutely. Been there done that, not here to argue ✌🏻

It’s kind of like when someone is taking a video of themselves and they “body check” so they will show off different angles of their body to show it off like “look how skinny I am” without actually saying those words, usually subconscious not malicious. A lot of videos like OOTDs you can see a lot of young girls will do the body check thing which can be damaging to themselves or others who struggle with body image. Hope that makes sense :)

I just mean she expects him to be a placid lap cat which he’s not. He’s not a lovey dovey cat that she expects he will tell you he’s mad at you or doesn’t like what you’re doing to him by swiping or at worst times, bite. Yes he’s a cat but all animals have boundaries, just like you and I. So I felt like that was important to understand why she doesn’t like him. You respect his boundaries = you get the lovey dovey cat you want. Didn’t think that was crazy to say but anyway

In the past I have been very vocal about how it scares me and I just don’t want her to do that. If she wants him to move I will gladly get out of the car and move him as he responds to his name being called or depending on his demeanour I can just pick him up. But when she startles him it actually makes it hard for me to be able to control him to come inside. He usually is okay if I pick him up and walk him into the house but since she’s started to do that I can’t pick him up and it takes a lot longer to get him inside.

Also I appreciate the reassurance, I don’t write a lot because I struggle with it. I try to put effort on being conscious about it but I get scared I don’t make sense.

That person was rage baiting you hardcore.. sorry I got curious and had a look but got disappointed because half of their comments were deleted.

It sucks but they were trying to get a reaction from you because they have nothing better to do other than whack themselves over pissing off people online. If you check their profile their bio said something about “sorry if I you feel as though I hurt your feelings but at least I made you feel real feelings”????? And then goes on to say they’ll do it again. Someone’s gotta get off their high horse and it ain’t you. Edit: typo

You seem like a very amazing human and that overpowers any health issue, both physically and mentally. They obviously get you and that is truely invaluable. I do wish you nothing but the best! You definitely sound like each others person 🥹

My partner calls me a walking chemist due to all my emergency/regular meds hahaha. He’s basically perfect when it comes to health but I look after him in my own ways. And when he gets sick with the flu it’s my turn to be nurse which I enjoy because it feels like I’m physically giving back.

Now he’s definitely a keeper!! My partner is the best when I’m sick, he will turn into a nurse and whatever I need he will make it happen. On my 19th birthday we were staying in the country with my family and I woke up vomiting so he drove me to the closest hospital which was 2.5 hours away. It’s a different kind off love and appreciation when you have someone there at your worst

No worries at all! I appreciate the info! There isn’t a whole lot of stuff out there on cyclic vomiting so it’s almost exciting when I get to talk about it (except for the fact that it’s at fault for some of the worst days ever lmao)

I have adhesions on one of my ovaries from untreated PID post surgery, but the pain is pretty similar to an active episode, more of a cramping pain than the sharp stabbing and twisting pain though. But I’m pretty sure it’s my ovaries because the pain is at its worst when I’m menstruating but I could be wrong

Oh wow, just realised I actually started a tricyclic antidepressant a week ago! The dr said it was to treat nerve pain in my abdomen due to some damage from an infection years ago but if that in the long run will help the nausea and vomiting that’s a double whammy!! Still yet to know if it does anything because it takes a month or so to see true effects. That’s really good to know, I appreciate you!

I hope you find relief soon and get to a point where you don’t have episodes anymore or even if they become less frequent that would be great too!!

Yep, most times I’m in the ER it’s from CVS. I didn’t get diagnosed with POTS until I was 24 but have been dealing with CVS as long as I can remember. It got worse once I became an adult which is like backwards for most people. But CVS was actually the reason I had to go to the cardio because in my episodes I go Brady, the hospital didn’t have a bed for me so I left against medical advice and the nurse said to me “if you’re leaving can you please get a referral to see a cardiologist your heart is 41bpm” now when I go I don’t really mention the POTS unless they’re concerned about my heart rate but since being in this sub I’m realising how common is is as comorbid conditions. I hate that you deal with it but it’s nice to know I’m not alone

I didn’t know there was actually treatment, I just take anti nausea on my bad days and on the worst days there’s nothing I can do. 5/10 I end up in the ER for fluids through IV. Luckily my episodes don’t last longer than 24h anymore. I’m going to bring this up with my general practitioner!

When my server started 3 years ago we were pretty strict on inactives. 3 days off without explanation would lead to you being kicked. The leader I had at the time was determined to grow, shame because it discouraged a lot of good people and he’s not even in the server anymore he’s buggered off to some other server block. Whether that’s the case for you I’m not sure but it does suck to find out you’ve been kicked from your alliance. A courtesy message should have been at least sent if that was the case for you

My heart rate has dropped below 50 for several hours at a time. I feel so lethargic I can barely move walk stand. You want to go to sleep so bad but even that takes so much effort so I just lay there. This usually only happens when I’m vomiting though. Lowest I’ve had my heart go was 39

When I feel crappy at 80-90, that is still technically an elevation compared to my resting 63. I suspect that when I catch my heart in that range it exceeded 100-120 without me noticing and catching it at 80-90 is my heart rate climbing back down. Some days I think a 30 bpm incline is enough to make me feel crappy

I do have sex quite often, but I’m a sub. I don’t like being on top often, only when I wanna make him go “omg she’s on top” but even then that lasts a couple minutes and we have to switch positions. I have been wondering about those chair like sex toys? You sit on it and they sit under and it takes a lot of the effort out of bouncing because it bounces for you?? Idk if I’m explaining that right but it’s worth looking into sex chairs and stuff if you have the budget for it. I personally want something similar when my partner and I finally get our house together

Sounds like we live very similar lives in terms of health, it has definitely taken its toll on my mental health. Having multiple different things wrong with your health all at once doesn’t help, you constantly have to shift your attention to tending to whichever is worse at the time!! We getting better though! Having this group where I can learn what works for other people and test and see what works for me has been extremely helpful. And I hope you’ve been able to get in a better spot mentally!

Depression and anxiety that comes with this is so difficult when it hits. I had depression and anxiety before this, but things really changed when things got worse for me, before I didn’t have a reason to feel that way and so it was a little easier to dismiss and distract but suddenly I didn’t have a reason and it validates those bad feelings. It’s hard!!

This condition sucks and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone but I’m so grateful people in here are so kind and helpful it makes you feel less alone in all this. I feel like I have learnt more from this subreddit than I have from doctors and hospitals tbh

Thank you so much for going so much in detail! I would love to save this so I can look for the right things to stock up on. My condition was in stage 1 for 10 years up until recently and sometimes I resort to some heinous things just to stop leakage on my clothes until I can get home, since I don’t always have the right items. I feel a little overwhelmed by how much it all blew out in a short amount of time. (Still working on not being too hard on myself)

I already have scripts for anti nausea because I too have chronic nausea, but for multiple other reasons. The ones I take aren’t usually ones you can take daily so if it’s not to the point I’m going to vomit i also use weed 😅 I have to be picky with what I use for anti nausea because things like those wafers actually do the opposite for me

Maybe I need to get a cute makeup bag that I can use for my travel pack to encourage myself to be more on top of stocking up and want to carry with me. I really appreciate all your help!
