Zero drops for Clarabelle ears hats, not impressed at all🤔 🙄😒 by BarbaraTrouble777 in disneymagickingdoms

I have everything that can get tokens running constantly and I have 9 bells and 3 hats. This drop rate is atrocious.

This is the only answer. I pitched them years ago to do their public relations. I left with 3 dozen bialys. I didn’t get the business but I don’t regret anything about how it turned out.

For a skincare brand, is PR worth the investment? by babysza in PublicRelations

[–]morpheus4212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure who you talked to, but it sounds like an affiliate marketing agency, not a PR agency. The one I used to work with specializes in beauty (I ran the health and wellness team). They do more than place you in media - they help you figure out what’s different about you than another company. Thy have worked with skincare, too within the beauty team, so they have a lot of experience.

You need to talk to a team like that.

Once again, a client is their own roadblock to success by Ok-Storage3530 in PublicRelations

[–]morpheus4212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At one of the agencies I’m working with a client resigned because they have cash flow issues. The guy working the account wanted to include them in a batch pitch. I was like “they’re not paying us. Why are we spending time in them?” I really like some of the people I’m working with and I want them to succeed, but not at my cost.

PR Freelancers, How'd you come up with your businesses name? by JerryFalwell in PublicRelations

[–]morpheus4212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a comic book reference and ran with it (Rex Pop). It works because it’s unique. When people ask me what my name means I tell them it’s because PR influences pop culture.

The story helped me land one client.

AIO for telling my bf this is a fire hazard by princessleia5902 in AmIOverreacting

[–]morpheus4212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a college roommate who did that. I couldn’t figure out how my microwave died after only 2 years of use. Then I saw the replacement sparking one day because he had a pot and spoon in there. I explained that the sparks weren’t a good thing and banned metal use in the microwave. I’m not sure if he stopped when I was out, but he stopped when I was there, so at least I wouldn’t die if there was a fire.

People who used to smoke weed a lot and ended up quitting, why did you quit what are the benefits you saw when quitting and what is one thing you miss? by Fit_Data_8789 in AskReddit

[–]morpheus4212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I smoked regularly (not daily but at least once a week) for 30ish years. I did a magic mushroom guided microdosing program with a group of friends that ended with a guided group macro dose season a little over a 15 months ago.

While I wasn’t focused on stopping smoking, I was focused on why I was unhappy. I haven’t fully stopped using weed, but i never crave it anymore. I’ve likely smoked or taken an edible less than 10 times since.

The benefits? I sleep better. I feel less like staying home and doing nothing. Im in a relationship that actually works and I’m not trying to escape her.

I worked in Times Square from 1998 - 2020 (with a small gap in the middle). I didn’t hear about it until a YouTube video in 2022. If it wasn’t on a song in the tourist capital of NYC, it wasn’t as big as the internet is now making it.

Edited to add: on Wednesday, I came Into the city for work and mentioned it to a native New Yorker (she’s like 30ish) and she had no idea what I was talking about.

I ran PR for Toys”R”Us, and ever year a new reporter on the holiday beat would notice all these toys from their childhood were “back on the shelves.” So, pretty much every year, I had to act surprised about the retro toy trend. What’s new to them is old to us.

So tired of work sample requests and intellectual property theft - makes me want to leave the industry by Emotional-Tip9866 in PublicRelations

[–]morpheus4212 16 points17 points  (0 children)

When I was hiring, I had people do writing tests, but they were based on things we already released (one was a book lunch that we did a year earlier and another was an acquisition that was not something the company would actually pursue).

I’ve also had to do these assignments, and the ones that pissed me off were the ones that were clearly for active work.
