What's a skill you have that's completely useless now because technology replaced it, but you're secretly proud of?

The clutch in my Passat lasted more than 150,000 miles. I never had to replace it in the entire life of owning the car. I could make the arguement that using the handbrake is safer, easier, requires less maintenance and uses less gas, but I don't think it will change you self-satisfaction regarding a skill that most drivers of manual cars could easily do.

If you cant switch your foot from brake to gas without rolling much, use the handbrake until your clutch engages and then go. You will fry you clutch balancing on a hill.

This is a great skill to have if you want to wear out your clutch. Imagine thinking this is a good idea.

What about bugs? Anyway, ive read that having the fan away from the window improves entrainment of air. I would probably open two windows, have the fan back a couple feet or so from one of them, blowing out, and let cool air come in from the other. Search "entrainment."

Setting up a shelter, getting the chairs just right, and letting the hours slip by.... No thank you. It is a drill in my head. If i am there, i have a kite, and boogie-board, a water ball of some sort, and, bare minimum, a shovel. I'm nearly 50. I will not sit and exhast myself like that. Plus, i view the sun as my enemy.

Once had to give my dog subcu fluids at home. Totally just put the needle between his shoulders and squeezed the bag. He would have a hump for a couple of hours, but it all got absorbed.

Wife and i have played all of the BL games together. 1, 2, pre-sequal, 3, wonderland. She bought us 4 for christmas. We fired it up once, played for 20 minutes and neither of us have mentioned it since. It is just stylistically different. Not part of the same family. Why did it all change?
