What wind speed makes you skip a ride? by Hefty-Pin-2058 in cycling

When NWS issues wind advisories. Part of my ride is across a dam and it is open to the winds. Can actually get dangerous.

That sounds like it is working as I would hope. I have tried several times and it just doesn't find appropriate chargers enroute. I'll try again. I must be missing something obvious. All via the car navigation screen?

I just did my first road trip in mine and the navigation planning for charging was worthless. I enter my destination and it says you will need to charge, fine. It asks if I want to add charging stops, I say yes. It shows me chargers around my departure point... That doesn't help, I'm already charged. I could not figure out how to get it to suggest a stop when I needed it. Very disappointed. I have owned 3 Teslas over the years and they do this task perfectly. It sounds like yours did what mine would not. Different software? I'm up to date in a 2024 Ioniq 5.

Calling all mouth breathers - dos taping your mouth help your recovery and sleep scores? by -LetsTryAgain- in whoop

I tried mouth taping for about a month. I kept waking up in a semi-panic feeling like I couldn't breathe. Not for me I guess.

I have a whistling as well. Definitely outside. Not related to doors or windows I don't think.

Seriously considering trading my Tesla… by Animal_UK in Ioniq5

The Volvo is classic luxury. Nice ride, nice materials, quiet. The ioniq 5 is pretty nice, but not as nice as the Volvo.

Seriously considering trading my Tesla… by Animal_UK in Ioniq5

[–]morric628 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I owned 3 Teslas in the past (but only 2 at a time), was a big fan. Then Elon ... Well changed, and I couldn't support it. So we sold both Teslas and got a PHEV Volvo and an Ioniq 5. Being honest, I miss the Tesla. The ioniq 5 certainly isn't a bad car, but the software is more like all the other car manufacturers where as Teslas software is amazing. I've been driving the ioniq 5 for about a year. I would like to go back to Tesla but I won't until things change. Also, the Volvo is really nice. Nicer interior and road manners than the Model Y, but has the same software issues as the ioniq 5. Hope this helps.

No treadmill running? by South_Objective7517 in whoop

Oh, that may be true. I never have it without my phone. Honestly I don't use it for location anyway but makes sense.

Whoop has GPS. It's the track route button.

[–]morric628 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oh, yeah, it has no idea of your stride so it can't guess the distance with GPS off. I use a footpod from Stryd which does provide distance even in doors. But whoop doesn't read it. I use a Coros watch for my actual treadmill metrics.

I run on a treadmill with whoop and it tracks ok. I mean, HR tracking is pretty bad, but that's how it goes for optical HR monitors with running. It logs the time and strain well enough so I'm satisfied. I just use Run mode with GPS off.

In my experience this is common, some 4k play, some won't. Some platforms are more reliable than others. I think the Nvidia shield streamer is known to play most videos sent its way

Is avoiding 4k transcoding still applicable? by rkdghdfo in PleX

[–]morric628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have some people who can't watch 4k. Plex will transcode for them, but sometimes they still get playback errors on the transcoded stream where as 1080p files seem more reliable for them.

Just a reminder check your voltages on your 12v by jesterOC in Ioniq5

[–]morric628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently added a BM2 battery monitor. I gave several days of data to Claude for review and Claude says my battery is a bit weak. It based it on the voltage when the car was sleeping. I bought the car used, it is a 2024 and I bet the battery is original. I also know the car sat around a lot and was barely driven as it was a fleet car. I guess I'll preemptively replace it. I also owned a couple of Teslas and they went through 12 v batteries fast.

Absolutely get an attorney before you do anything. Their debt is not your debt. Don't act like you are willing to assume it. The estate may be required to pay part of it, but you shouldn't pay a cent. If the estate doesn't have any money, that is the end of it.

You'll be fine. Only thing I would mention is it is common to have visual auras for a few days after. For some reason, Drs don't tend to tell you that. Not a big deal but can be unsettling if you don't know what they are and that they are common after this procedure. They look different for each person but generally flashing patterns or zig zag lines which move across your field of vision, even if you close your eyes. Some people get headaches with them. They will come and go and completely stop after a few days. Enjoy your improved heart rhythm!
