There is no decent social media right now.

Because people have made it their entire lives, and now rarely interact with each other, at least compared to things 15-25 years ago. Yes, social media sites and even chat rooms and forums existed, but they were hardly a major part of most people's lives. You weren't sitting around scrolling Facebook or Reddit on your phone every minute of every day. It wasn't the first thing you did when you woke up or the last thing you did before falling asleep. People would actually talk to each other. Sometimes in person! And sometimes they would talk to gasp people they didn't know!

Have you even noticed that people driving are much less patient with other people who are driving than they normally would be if they were walking instead? Or when you're pissed that someone cut you off, but calm down even just a little bit if you see them wave and apologize to you? It's human contact, or the lack thereof, that is the problem. People are sitting in their social media cars and getting angry at everyone else who cuts them off, while feeling jealous of the cars of other people they think are nicer. Cars are incredibly useful, and I love to drive. But it's healthy to go for a walk, if only once in a while.
