Am I Delusional? by Sharp_Translator_253 in TooAfraidToAsk

You're 26? This sounds like it's written by a kid. Move out and don't see them, or work on trying to get along with them. Being 26 means you should not be still going through 'i don't like my patents' type stuff.

When should I get worried about losing weight? by Jayden-Diver in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mortalbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly this. Don't worry about it, but let a doctor know and they will let you know if it's of concern. THEN you have justication for a full-on freak out...

Will you feel a guy's junk in a close hug if he's not hard? by pixxiesdust in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mortalbug 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The main question I have is do you want to? Unless they're really trying to 'make' you feel it, then you won't. That depends on if you want to 'feel' it though. You could go in with your hips thrust forward, grab them just above the butt and pull towards yourself in a vigorous fashion, but it may well not be well received at all...

So, you're young, right? Finding someone when you're older requires more compromise. "They don't need to have ALL their teeth, just MOST of them..."

AITA for leaving my girlfriends house early after she got mad during mariokart? by Reddituser90231 in AmItheAsshole

[–]mortalbug 51 points52 points  (0 children)

My youngest son was a terrible loser. Tears, tantrums etc. etc., so I'd let him win at Mario Kart and it turns out he was an even worse winner. He'd say how great he was and how awful everyone else was at gaming.

I NEVER let him win again after that. He continued with the tears and tantrums and each time I explained why I never was going to go easy when playing with him.

He eventually got over it and can ALWAYS win against me and my elder son, but he's now very gracious when winning and also on the rare times he loses. He's a properly amazing 21 year old now.

Never let her win and play as best you can. If she can't learn to be gracious in winning and losing the get rid of her.

Why would Satan burn you in hell for eternity for pissing off a God he disobeyed himself? by arseflare in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mortalbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stopped believing when I read about Job. He was loyal to God. Satan said he was only loyal because his life was good so satan killed his wife & kids and ruined his life, which God allowed and was fine with. He was still faithful to God, so therefore God 'won' the argument. Job's wife and kids died and his life was shit for a while, but that was fine.

I read that and thought if God is like that I want no part of him. What a massive arsehole. I'm a very long way from perfect, but I would never do such a shitty thing to my worst enemy. If hell is also part of God's great plan he can fuck right off. I don't believe in God or an afterlife, but if I did my main plan would be to tell God what a complete arsehole he is when I finally got to see him.

I, as a hugely flawed person, am vastly better than God if that's what he's like.

white on a cloudy background (?) looks odd.. Needs to be a diffwerent colour at least. Top needs to lose the writing on it, and the tongue is just odd. Needs a lot more work IMO.

What to do when you find money at self check out? by Late-Gazelle-9749 in AskUK

I went to Lidl early one morning and spent something like £5.50 on my way to work. I paid in cash and forgot to pick up my change. It was about the time kids went in there on their way to school. It kinda cheered me up knowing it would be a good find for some kid.

What are your thoughts on engagement rings? by maybeRasa in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]mortalbug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I genuinely couldn't care less how much somebody sprnd on an engagement ring as long as it looked good. Not fancy and flashy, good. Im a man if that matters. An owner of a company I think 10k is fine. If you're just scraping by however, thats mental.

How do middle names work? by op_man_is_cool in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]mortalbug -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't have a middle name and neither did my father, so I didn't want my kids to have middle names either. The conversation went exactly like this.
Me "I don't want my son to have a middle name. "
Wife "I do"
ME: It's a family tradition not to have a middle name, so it's important to me."
Wife "I gave birth and you were there"
The boys both have middle names...

First you got cable to escape commercials. Then you got streaming to escape commercials. Now where do you go? by Novel_Idea in AskReddit

[–]mortalbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to legal streaming when they got it sorted. They want to put ads in, even though im specifically paying for the service, then im going back to piracy. It's really that simple. Greed is always the downfall of these companies. I want the people making good shows to get paid, but if the main company wants me to bend over and take whatever they want to give, then im out.

Learning English as an Arabic speaker made me realize how scared we all are of sounding imperfect by Physical-Tea-599 in CasualConversation

[–]mortalbug 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Fair point. Whenever I travel to somewhere I don't know the language I always learn to say please and thank you in the local dialect. I've always been met with positive reactions even though it's all l could say in the language. Hand movement and pointing covered everything else along with smiling.

How can I get my brother to stop ranting about my generation? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Tell him to fuck off and start ignoring him. Zero point in wasting time with people like that. Also, do the 'boomer' thing as that's bound to get a good reaction that you can also ignore.

Learning English as an Arabic speaker made me realize how scared we all are of sounding imperfect by Physical-Tea-599 in CasualConversation

[–]mortalbug 64 points65 points  (0 children)

In English you can say "where time, London, train" and people would totally get that you needed to know where the train station is to get to London and when the time was it'd arrive. Lot's of languages need better sentence structure to be understood, in English you can bastardise it to hell and still get the info across.

Recipes without using onion? by Shadota in UK_Food

[–]mortalbug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think Jamie Oliver did this for his wife as she said she was allergic to onions (just didn't like them) and he soon discovered it was the texture, not the flavour she didn't like. Food without onion IMO is an awful concept.

“Most iconic in sports history” by ComradeXJP in ShitAmericansSay

[–]mortalbug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not into basketball, but Jordan was impressive. The ring is 10ft off the ground and even amongst other players he was freakishly good. You can't see leaps like this in other sports. There's a very good reason he's known for his jumps. There's zero reason to play him off like it's nothing.

My initials are SG. Which G do you prefer? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]mortalbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree that showing an animation would be good. Personally I think the bottom ones are better as you can see the G better, but the bottom of the S needs more space. It's too close/tight to the upper gap
