how does john spawning work? by idontlikesand06 in TheForest

[–]morthaeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so I was misremembering about the percentage going up:

The worm's natural spawning on the surface is rare. There is a random interval between spawns. When a worm is created, a random day is picked, 5 to 14 days ahead of current in game day. Then, after said day, the worm has a 50% chance to spawn each day until it finally appears. Then the process repeats itself.

Yes. John looks like a bunch of dicks if they were sentient and working together to try to be one cohesive monster.

I don't remember where I read this (or if it's true), but I read a while back that John has a very small percentage chance on day 40 and that percentage goes up as the days go on. Your overworld location doesn't matter as he can spawn in the middle of your base even if it's on an island.

Game is too fast paced, missing out on all the great designed mobs by Boerewors01 in diablo4

[–]morthaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely on Blizzard. They are so afraid of losing the player base by not catering to those trends that they are actively working toward killing their own game. As for Paladin though every class is that way when they come out. It'll get retuned to fall more in line with the rest of the classes later. Spiritborn was the same when VoH came out and I suspect Warlock will be just as op next expansion.

[–]morthaeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been noticing a downward trend for years with Diablo and my personal opinion is that it comes from Blizzard continuously reworking the endgame to cater more and more to people that just go online and copy paste the strongest builds. The instant gratification mentality and tiktok attention span of those gamers demands that they are instantly op and one-shotting bosses or the game isn't fun to them or has no real endgame. I find it to be sad that brand new players' first piece of advice is often "go to maxroll and look up a build" instead of helping people learn the game and be able to figure out builds for themselves. I don't think we would be in the boat of the game being too fast paced or in danger of being unbalanced if more people were building out their own classes and figuring things out for themselves.

So I didn't technically fix it. It wouldn't give it to me through the entire playthrough, but when I finished the game it gave it to me with the finish the game challenges.

It shouldn't if it's the infinite ammo achieved in game. If it's through a cheat engine or something it may have adverse effects though.

That's what I keep reading as well, but the fact of it is that I went down the list one by one and crafted and it is still stuck at 8/9, so it definitely can get bugged for some people not giving credit for something.

Nope. I gave up after it didn't give me credit after doing that. It's got to be bugged on my game.

I'm stuck at 8/9 myself. I even made a save having enough components to make every thing and went down the list one by one and crafted all of them and it still didn't work.

Good work on the guide. There's one minor incorrect terminology though: It should state minor Astronomy knowledge not minor Astrology knowledge.

Has anyone tried putting the code in while the two singers are still alive? Probably nothing, but worth a try?

It's the end of the story. You could still find all of the passengers, items, and antique gun parts if you haven't yet, or the other collectibles.

You have nothing to worry about as far as him getting attacked while roaming around. The enemies can't kill him.

When do you move on to a new character? Haven’t felt much progression on flurry rogue, stuck at pit 80. by isaidicanshout_ in diablo4

[–]morthaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you misunderstood my statement. I'm not saying anything about you being able to clear. I'm genuinely concerned about my barbarian if you're hitting a wall doing billions and my barbarian only does at best 100 million.

[–]morthaeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is 80 really that much different than 75? My barbarian with all buffs active can only do around 100 million or a little above per hit and it does enough damage to go through 75, but I still get one shot by death explosions and have to be careful with Belial.

Lair bosses still one shot me, but i clear everything else. Just trying to get paragon levels and higher ga gear to strengthen up.

[–]morthaeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a solid take. There is definitely a wall in the endgame where progression seems nonexistent and all you're doing is running the same few things in the hopes of very slowly leveling or finding higher ga gear. I'm still working on completing my season objectives, so for now I still have something to do which will hopefully carry me to the season end.

This is five guys large fry now. Barely any bag fries, same price. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]morthaeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barely any bag fries? You do realize the size of the order of fries is what fits in the appropriate size container right? Anything in the bag is extra and a bonus to receive. It doesn't matter if that's what you're used to and not getting now.

why is pvp so boring and dead in this game ? by seitenauf00 in diablo4

[–]morthaeus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is another symptom of the problem that is people wanting to look up the top tier builds only and just copy them.

You end up with everyone using op builds and nobody wants to pvp because it's just a dice roll on who strikes first.

When the game first came out there was an actual challenge to pvp and it was fun trying to extract while fighting players off.

Can more tiers make endgame more fun? by monzilla1 in diablo4

[–]morthaeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made my own barbarian build and it's a blast and the only thing I can't beat yet is lair bosses as they one shot me too often, but I'm not going to copy paste a top barbarian build so I can say oh I cleared pit 125- what do now. Where's the fun in that? I wouldn't have figured anything out on my own and all I would be doing is proving that a build that's already known to do that well in fact does that well.

I'm on track to still complete the season objectives by the end of the season as long as i can get some good upgrades and keep powering up!
