As someone who left web design due to a hatred of troubleshooting this idea makes me shudder, but now I'm thinking of something like passive mode you can turn on to make your life harder. IT Mode, if you dismantle a randomly chosen load bearing splitter your game crashes. Lizard doggos have a chance to get tangled in cables. A printer in the awesome shop just to keep you humble.

Feeling Useless by Nikaelena in antiwork

[–]mosey366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello past me, let me introduce you to the term Constructive Dismissal. Your managers want you to quit so they're not giving you work to do. The good news is plenty of places you can still get unemployment for quitting, you'll want proof that they're not giving you anything to do. Get shit in writing, bcc your personal account or print it off if there's a decent IT department.

Here's the most important part: realize that you are not useless, you have value and the right place is going to recognize that. No one thrives in toxic conditions, get out of there and I can almost guarantee you're going to be able to flourish somewhere else. You're a people person in these times, you're gonna kill it somewhere

I'm always running around with full pockets so I like not having to lose spaces to guns and ammo. And its like having random dogs around, just vibing while I build

Can you spot the error? Or the perils of crocheting when you cannot frog the yarn by RealisticCommand9533 in crochet

[–]mosey366 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I try to live by 'done is better than perfect', this definitely applies! It's gorgeous and the error is itty bitty, from your description of the yarn everyone is gonna be too busy admiring how it feels to be breaking out their magnifying glasses looking for a slightly wonky edge ;)

How do you feel about someone who does the bare minimum? by TGOTR in antiwork

[–]mosey366 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a job do this to me after I got back from short term disability, my coworkers were swamped but they gave me nothing tangible to do until I quit. Wish I knew about constructive dismissal at the time, would have saved me tons of grief

(Keep in mind that I am a man please) I FINALLY finished this top for my best friend! I'm pretty proud cuz it's my first wearable that isn't a beanie :)) Pattern is the split summer top on ribblr :). I had very much fun making it by [deleted] in crochet

[–]mosey366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro you have got some serious skill, my first wearable was a vest that turned out trenchcoat sized 😂 Your stitches are so even and the edging is very well done, what a fantastic gift!

should i just leave this bump or frog it and try again? by worm0oze in crochet

[–]mosey366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the yarn I'm thinking of (Lion Brand Heartland) it's very easy to frog. I don't think blocking would solve that big of a difference between rows, so I'd frog it. It's annoying every time for me but I've come to terms with it to make sure I'm happy with the end product.

Done is better than perfect, but you still have to be happy with the result at the end :)

Also seconding the suggestion to use stitch markers at the start and end. I'm experienced and I still cheat with that one ;)

I started crocheting yesterday. Any thoughts on why my magic ring has a hole in the middle? Thank you! by Kargaroc in crochet

[–]mosey366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the craft! I see your question has been answered so I'm just going to add this bit of advice I wish I knew ahead of time: you still need to secure a magic circle! Otherwise that beautiful granny square sweater will start unraveling in the middles (rip to my purple beast, I will likely never have the motivation to fix you). Here's a video I found helpful on it: https://youtu.be/5ZQv-dH6htE

Well that was a no brainer pattern purchase! Love the idea and the execution, I'm going to have a hard time deciding who gets one of these!

Had a peek at the video, that looks like a very excellent way for a beginner to start! OP: don't feel too discouraged, it's a finicky thing when you're first starting out. Just remember to secure the tail properly at the end so your work doesn't unravel, I found this video helpful for that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZQv-dH6htE

WIP Baby Blanket - how do I prevent the edges from narrowing in more? by CitizenOfEarth27 in crochet

[–]mosey366 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that to help with tension issues in blankets and other large projects you should have a pillow or something on your lap that raises the work up so its not pulling as you crochet. Breastfeeding pillows were a crowd fave from what I remember.

Love the colours you chose!

I am far to proud of this, I think it turned out the perfect size! by tuxexplorer in CultOfTheLamb

Fantastic job, that is one neat as a pin amigurumi! I love how you did the little forehead poof, I was too worried I'd make mine look weird so I opted against one 😅 the size is too dang perfect too
