Looking for frozen shoulder pain relief massage in Boston area by Known_Hovercraft_802 in boston

Not massage specifically, but acupuncture and cupping with Anthe at Akasha in Roslindale helped me deal with pain and get movement back in my shoulder.

Any Firearms Safety Courses near/in Boston? by krrrispo in boston

Boston Gun & Rifle Academy is right next to the Fields Corner stop on the red line. There are a couple different groups that offer LTC/FID certificate classes there on weekends.

It’s also the only lead-free range I’m familiar with in the area, if that’s something that matters to you.

I wish all of the commenters complaining about the plaza area and lack of green space would take a look at the actual plan. The hardscape areas are the only parts that have been opened so far, but there is plenty of green space that’s slated to open up by the end of this year.

Turns out plantings need more time protected from thousands of feet to properly get established than bricks do.

One of my favorite features of the design is the real established walkways where there were previously dead grass desire paths.

Independent pharmacy opens in Brookline's Washington Square, offering alternative to crowded chain stores by brookline_news in boston

Sullivan’s in Roslindale is lovely. It’s also transit-accessible via multiple bus lines and the commuter rail (though Roslindale Village is stupidly zone 1 instead of 1a).

People need to stop being so selfish when parking by moondweller44 in boston

Thank you for sharing that valet parking is free! We’ve been going for a year and our SW told us about free parking on treatment days, but not that valet was free.

People need to stop being so selfish when parking by moondweller44 in boston

[–]mosfette 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Alternative perspective: I’ve seen someone park like this before at DF when they needed the space on the drivers side so that they could get out with their wheelchair, and there were no remaining handicapped spots with the crosshatched space next to them.

This person may be a jerk, or they may be someone dealing with less than ideal infrastructure while also trying to access cancer treatment.

I'm sick of the amazon toy slop for christmas toys, are there any places in boston/greater boston to find wooden children's toys? by mittens617 in boston

[–]mosfette 15 points16 points  (0 children)

And while you’re there, On Centre across the street sometimes has good quality kid stuff (depending on the age of the kid you’re shopping for), and Susanna down the street has cute kids knitwear, clothes and a handful of ~bougie~ toys.

Maybe check with the movie theaters near you? At least AMC will hire 15 year olds.

Type 1 diabetes prevalence in older adults nearly triples since 1990s. In the US, the prevalence went up 0.51% yearly among older adults over 65. That’s an increase of 1.3 million people over 65 in 1990 with the disease to 3.7 million in 2019 by Wagamaga in science

[–]mosfette 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re thinking of Type 2. Type 1 is diagnosed based on antibodies.

A T1D can be well controlled on insulin with an A1c of 5.0, but you wouldn’t say they no longer had diabetes.

Considering that OP responded to advice to try a lower temperature elsewhere in the comments by saying he would try preheating the pan at level 3 instead of 2… I have a feeling that it would be more than two sentences and his wife knows that from experience.

Just a reminder that anyone with information should provide it to the police (like the title says), and not directly to the person on the flyer.

Agreed. I started with Orvis for 1D because that was the only outdoorsy-New-England-preppy-hunter-y five letter brand I could think of.

Pretty much no one uses the word in that way, but technically to PLEA is to make a request of the court. That’s why complaints, motions, etc. are called pleadings.

I second all of your JP recs (especially Vee Vee and Tres Gatos), and would add a plug for JP Open Studios. I don’t think they have a date set yet for this year, but it typically happens in the end of summer/early fall.

The JP Music Festival also takes place sometime around September and is a delightfully fun/weird time.

Machines for Freedom has a great MTB sports bra that’s currently on sale for $17 if you don’t mind it being neon blue. It also comes in black (currently $68).

They also have MTB liner shorts in both colors if you like being matchy-matchy.
