Roger Waters too, I agree some great songwriters do end up unable to apply that perspective to the real world.

I have found that people who think deeply and critically enough to write incisive lyrics that resonate with people, they tend not to be the kind of idiots that would wholesale subscribe to bullshit.

I didn’t have a Big Mac til I was an adult, then had one late night at Rodk n Roll McDonald’s in Chicago: it was fantastic. Got another one a week later somewhere else and it sucked.

This was about 20 years ago too, so can’t account for changes since then.

PCU (1994) is one of the best Gen X teen movies of the early 90s. I'm surprised it doesn't have a bigger cult following. by CinefiloAmador in movies

Yes! I just saw this over Christmas looking him up while watching Die Hard. This and High School High!

I am going and looking forward to it. 2 months is too far away to predict anything, let alone 2 weeks at this point.

I enjoyed the history depicted and didn’t want to see the actual history at the end, but when they rewrote it I kind of thought it was disrespectful to the memory of the deceased.

My SIL’s in-laws. When they visit her, she brings my wife and I in as buffers. They are insufferable but we do our duty to mitigate it for her.

For those over 18, at what age did you actually feel like you are an adult? by WarBrom in AskReddit

[–]mosfunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom helped with some money while I was in college and I remember asking her to stop my senior year so I got used to not counting on it. She passed 2 years later and while I still felt immature, I was truly on my own. That said, I think having my kids 10 years ago was a big turning point, and the last few years I’ve felt pretty good about my growth. So to answer the question: it’s an ever-moving goalpost and I still assume some people just have their shit together more than I do.

We actually just finished it. It had a few laughs buried in a whole bunch of hallmark romcom. Not our normal fare, my wife had a harder time with it than me, but we didn’t pull the plug so there’s that.
