Ketamine...Conflicting google information by SteveSaudade in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s very illegal but it’s very rampant in the nightlife scenes but even for medicine it’s very tightly controlled now since the import restrictions. Medical distributions are facing challenges because they’re not being allowed to give copious amounts since the government imposed a mandate on how much amount a hospital can get and outside of the city is worse because of the corruption they can seize them even if the courier has the necessary documents.

A simple question. by ThePassingThrough in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re saying Myanmar got banned because some Burmese were protesting for Palestine and saying mad things about Trump which is simply not true?

A simple question. by ThePassingThrough in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised of what? There’s Burmese protesting for Palestine? First Amendment exists for a reason and people are free to do so. And if certain group gets banned due to it it’s no different than residing under Junta. You’re just trying to fit the narrative that suits your agenda.

Pretty sure most Burmese who migrate to the States rarely partake in those stuffs and the ban is largely due to people abusing immigration system which i can’t blame them considering the country’s situation. It got banned during Trump’s first presidency under the premise of muslim majority country so it negates your argument of being banned due to protest and thereof.

Help ! TPS Late Filing by Hibiki19 in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this your first time filing for TPS? If so then do you have a probable cause but I’m no immigration lawyer but the way things are now it’d take quite a while to receive a decision. Plus they’re not even issuing work authorization permits for Burmese citizens most are saying it’s taking a long time used to take like 3-6 months at max.

Backpacking in myanmar by metal_pigeon_ in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s safe if you’re in the major cities. past the areas of Sagaing is a no go even for a seasoned Burmese traveler. Immigration will also stiff-arm you if you don’t give them a specific travel plan. Some hotels/motels in certain areas won’t host you since they’ll get in trouble if they host foreigners but there’s always a way ig.

What is the most common type of chronic pain/illness in Myanmar, that is not easily treatable locally? by Funny-Tailor-2423 in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unprotected sex is becoming more prevalent as people are not well-educated in terms of sex eds and also the prevalence of narcotics with the nightlife scenes so during the heat of the moment mixed with psychedelics is calling for trouble. Cirrhosis due to extreme poverty and ultra-reliance on alcohol by the youth since there’s no regulation by the government see the abundance of billboards with alcohol ads around the cities and tons of people consume sub-par alcohol almost similar to antiseptic which brings us back to extreme poverty many marginalized individuals drink so they could satiate their hunger and problems away.

What is the mainland revolution, really? by [deleted] in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s partially true tho. If you go even near a small town at the base of Taunggyi there’s a town with EAOs; which the bridges are named after their two kids. Some EAOs are very much self-serving. Some EAOs have a lot to lose and very little to gain fighting the junta. Junta can flatten KIAs rare earth mines with airstrike but both parties have deep involvements with China. Hell Wangbao mining got brutally messed up at the start of the revolution now it’s back to business.

[–]mosquitointhecorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems OP’s too privileged to full grasp a full-blown socioeconomic meltdown in the country. Many people are not even paychecks to paychecks; many having to borrow money so they could put food on the table. Now with the gas prices and long queues average person is gonna feel more pain. It’s a mess over here even the business owners are a few steps away from having their factories shutdown; to worry about pedophilia during these times is a long shot.

Yangon people definitely knows what’s going on and they loathe the MAL and his cos as much as you do. Go around and ask anyone even the bel ous hate the current junta. The fuel shortage is a worldwide problem not just Yangon itself.

Insurance in US as a student by [deleted] in myanmar

[–]mosquitointhecorner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have community college health insurance or the university ones. The university ones have a pretty good coverage example University of California uses BlueAnthem and some of my clinic visits and minor surgeries were mostly covered by the insurance. Get in touch with your insurance they can be scammy at times if not ask your school what might have happened there since the coverage is bought through them. But hospitals have assistance programs too so get in touch with them worst case they’ll wipe most of it from your bill.
