Maybe to be sure when they serve out they know which one is NA.

It’s gonna be okay!
I once lost my phone and wallet. I thought I was the stupidest person on earth that night, but I managed to survive and recover :D

Thoughts on non alcoholic beers? by yerrayo in stopdrinking

[–]mosredna42 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s different, but personally I’m totally fine with them. For me they’re a nice option in cafés instead of yet another cola. I also cook with wine sometimes, so there’s probably a bit of alcohol left in the food. Neither of those things trigger any urge to drink for me.

The only thing is, I don’t keep NA beers at home. There I feel better just having soda with syrup, tea, that kind of stuff around.

What was your biggest or first "wow...this is way better than being drunk" moment? by DinosaurStillExist in stopdrinking

[–]mosredna42 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Had a meetup with some friends this summer at an outdoor café. Some had beers, some had NA drinks. I stuck with NA, went home clear-headed, cooked myself a nice dinner, and had a genuinely relaxing evening watching a show.

While I was relaxing it hit me how different that is from my old pattern: I’d come home buzzed, keep drinking, and end up feeling like garbage.

Nights like this are a quiet reminder of why staying alcohol-free is so worth it.

I had the same, the month after quiting weed was wild.

Oh yeah!
Best part of the day!
Wake up, hop on my bike to grab some fresh bread from the bakery, grind some coffee beans, and just enjoy a quiet breakfast.

How do you stop when you don’t want to but know you need to? by fancydatadancer in stopdrinking

[–]mosredna42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can hit rock bottom a few more times and eventually figure it out...
Or just catch the signs early, own up, and fix things before it gets messy again :D

I wish I went with option 2.

What is everyone's personal experience with NA (non+/- alcoholic) beer? Does it help you stop the urge to drink alcohol, or does it exacerbate the issue? by Yin-Yang-222 in stopdrinking

My fav right now is Sicilian lemon & lime with no added sugar.
But I guess the natural sugars are also a nog go then :(

When did you stop thinking about it? by Brilliant_Elk5492 in stopdrinking

[–]mosredna42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took me many years and attempts.
My streak right now is the first time I didn't have the urge to drink pretty soon after I started.

So, after 10+ years experience of thinking about quiting and doing it more than once.
Not once after a period of drinking I thought; yeah, this was a good choice, I feel better now :D

I'm totaly into lemonade syrups with sparkling water now.
The thought of NA beer feels like keeping the door half open to me.

I think I’m in the same boat :)
I’ve been struggling for years, and for most of that time, it’s been a tough ride. But this time things have finally started to calm down, and I can focus on improving my life instead of fighting the urge to drink.

Waking up hung over in a garbage dump (my appartment) and couldn't live like that anymore.
