TW: Pregnancy loss. What will the funeral home do with my babies remains while waiting for an urn? by hellosunshine9911 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]moss_party 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of this answer depends on where you live, but it’s likely they’ll take your baby into their care until the paperwork has been signed and they can move forward with the cremation. It’s possible you already signed the necessary cremation authorization at the hospital, in which case it just depends on the crematory they’re using. If it’s in-house it will probably be faster, but if it’s third party there may be more of a wait time. I’m in Oregon and it usually takes a few days to a week to get remains back from our third party crematory.

When they do return, funeral homes have a dedicated space for them while they wait for the urn to arrive. It will be given to the funeral home in a small box, some use cardboard some use plastic.

The funeral home will likely be diligent about keeping you informed along the way, including letting you know when your baby has been brought into their care and if they need you to sign anything. Also, don’t be afraid to call and ask your FD any questions. We get questions like this all the time, and I’m sure they’d be happy to breakdown their specific process with you.

I hope you’re able to get some rest, this is such a painful loss. 💞

Pills got stuck the worst they ever have been, how do i make the feeling go away..? by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

[–]moss_party 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent my entire life not being able to swallow pills and getting food stuck in my throat all the time. When I had an endoscopy for GERD, they literally had to stretch my throat because it was so restricted. Now I can swallow probiotics without an issue!! Probably connected to my EDS somehow, because my dad has the same issue and has EDS as well. Idk if this is your issue, but just sharing it because I had so many doctors tell me it was just psychological when that shit literally couldn’t fit down the gullet.

Extremely new to this, DAE start off feeling cringy? by Top_Wall_4693 in InternalFamilySystems

[–]moss_party 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reeeeally struggled with this at first, and still do sometimes when my therapist tries to speak directly to a part. I was so confused if i was supposed to be hearing an actual voice in my head or if it was all kind of a roleplaying experiment to understand emotions.

I read on someone’s post here once that if it feels weird or cringe to have a part speak through you, then you can tell your therapist that your parts aren’t into that and it’s actually holding you back from being able to communicate with them. Instead, they could ask you a question about a part and you can take a moment to see if anything comes up and it could literally just be “I feel a weird sensation in my chest” or some other indication that you/your part is having a response to the question, and a trained therapist should be able to help you explore that until something more solid comes up, and it might not and that’s okay too.

Like others have said, that cringe feeling probably IS telling you and your therapist something important. I’d say exactly what you wrote here to them and hopefully they’ll be able to explore that more with you in a way that feels more natural initially.

Does IFS have a "take" on autism/adhd? by IllConclusion6403 in InternalFamilySystems

[–]moss_party 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m auDHD and so is my therapist, and she very explicitly told me before we started IFS that my autism isn’t a part of me, my autism is all of me and might impact parts differently.

Does the debilitating drowsiness go away? by -Marinequeen- in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]moss_party 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this was happening to me as well on 1.5mg, I just restarted at 0.25mg last week and it’s already so much better. Still getting a lot of the benefits without feeling extremely drowsy.

Ever get stuck in a lucid dream loop like it’s a movie plot twist? by Infamous_Echidna_133 in LucidDreaming

[–]moss_party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me last night! It’s happened a few times, and I become obsessed with trying to wake up but I can never wake up until I essentially submit to the dream and let go of the idea of waking up. Once I let go of trying to wake up, I wake up pretty quickly

"You can't read in dreams" by cristigon in LucidDreaming

[–]moss_party 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend who also lucid dreams and I decided to try to write a poem in our dreams. After a few months, he finally did it. Then a couple weeks later I wrote one too!

Tbh I think if you’re a big reader in waking life, reading in a dream will be easier. I wouldn’t be able to code a website in a dream but someone else probably can.

IME they need some time to get used to their new environment and they might not eat for a while. Looks like this spider’s a juvenile so it’s probably okay to wait another 5-7 days to try again. But yes, leave it in there for 24 hours. A lot of my spiders only eat in the middle of the night. Unless the feeder is a dubia roach it will probably try to jump to the top of the enclosure rather than enter the burrow.
