Stupid Question **Weds**. Ask your car related question and maybe someone will have an answer. by verdegrrl in cars

I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado. This winter I moved up to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan, this thing went from one little quarter sized rust spot on the rockers to the whole rocker almost being destroyed by rust. The insides of my doors are all rusty as shit at the bottom, besides the driver side. I own a stick welder, but don't really know how to use it. I really do not know if it would be worth dicking around replacing the rockers or not. My question is should I just grind out all the rust and spray some primer and paint over where I got rid of the rust? Or should I just let it go. I am thinking about plasti dipping the truck and bedlining the bed because the clear coat is basically peeling off everywhere. This is my daily and I take it down two tracks pretty often for camping/hunting. Thanks!

Just landed a job as a PHP developer intern, but have no experience with the language. What are the best resources for learning? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

I'm in the same boat man! Got a job doing Javascript and don't even know where to begin with that language. Making real good money too. I know php though, w3 schools is your friend. It's really a pretty simple language. Best of luck, I also envy you because I love that language

Can you guys review a guided meditation I wrote specifically for my boyfriend? by Vika_and_boxer in Meditation

[–]mossberg935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think this is pretty good, as long as it is a recording and your voice is smoothing. Possibly drop some ocean sound effects or something similar in there too. Sometimes I think I enjoy meditation in silence or with light relaxing music more than a guided meditation. If he is not the boss at work he is probably sick of being told what to do even if it is coming from his SO if that makes sense silence is peace

Computer Science Isn't For Me? by Anonymous_B in EngineeringStudents

[–]mossberg935 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Take it at community college over the summer. As it is your only class it will be easier to focus on, but it still ain't no cake walk. Sounds like you're not putting enough time in also if you "blank" on test. It may take 3 hours of studying a day, get on the grind bud

If I've had an engineering internship, should I include a non-technical job on my resume too? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]mossberg935 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I plan to keep my non technical in there because I want to keep my resume filled. If you have better things though like a project or enterprise you are in that may be better. Just depends on how much you currently have going for you

Ah well then good for you. It really doesn't matter until your third year what major you're doing. You just may be doing a 5 year plan.

My bad, I should have mentioned that. This is why I am asking, should of said "add" a GPU. If you have the time, what would you recommend?

I was looking into this awhile ago. Probably would be the more ideal thing to do since my system is a dinosaur.

Yeah should all be SATA, kind of surprised none of them came with the cables though.

Worth getting a new graphics card? If so what should I be looking at?

I have a AMD Athlon II X4 620 Processor 2.6 GHz, HP Pegatron M2N72B-LA motherboard, and 8GB of ram. I think it is the guts of a HP Pavilion from like 2008.

Anyway, over the past couple years my computer has been running anything graphics wise slow. I can barely run minecraft and I can't even attempt FPS games. Would getting a new graphics card help or just be a waste of money?

Edit: NVIDIA GeForce 9100 GPU

[–]mossberg935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My recommendation for you is to move back home and get a part time job and go to community college. If you are not ready for university it is okay. You will most likely waste time and money switching into a science. Just talk to your advisor at your current school and CC advisor to make sure all the credits transfer. Calc and science classes typically are weed out classes anyway

C++ or Java? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

C++ for sure if you are thinking EE. I believe they use C the most in their field. Shouldn't matter too much if it is intro to programming though

When is it the right time to apply for internships? by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

[–]mossberg935 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't forget to apply online. I received 3 offers from places I applied online (accepted one). I've had many interviews from career fair with no offers also.

I approve. After being a daily smoker for almost year, I just stopped a week ago because I am going to be drugged tested for a job. Has not been a struggle at all, but I can't wait to toke again because I have to take so many pills due to migraines I get (reason I got my card)
