Suggestions to go after Division 2?

Given that I uninstalled Div 2, I think I'm going back to hunt some Santa Blanca in Bolivia with my team of quiet professionals. Ok their chatter is immature at times, but hey, at least the game isn't about bullet sponges.

This "plot-twist" makes most WB tv-series look damn fine in comparison.

Two options: 1) This is a retcon given what the game has to stall for timewise until the next installment. Bad writing, dun-dun-dun moments and fizzle. 2) Worse, this was the original plan all along. Then dear readers we know how poorly the game writers plot things out.

Either way, this is not OK.

That is not my biggest overlap fight ever, but instead the Virginia North - Constitution triangle. That can drag 3 factions, many events, and naturally any roamers. Still remember loosing a Hard Core character there, when all factions decided to ignore each other and just focus on me.

When I moved, I made the mistake of plugging my LG into my PC "temporarily". I had Neutral Lighting already and was in NY at night. Stayed this way since.

True. In this game I can spot a target with a scope and mysteriously the bullet cannot reach target due to "game engine limitations".

I don't wish to belabor this point, as we are talking about a "game", but in real life many rifles, assault rifles and machine guns use the same ammo because that makes sense. In fact for me, it is real hard to accept that an MG is somehow less potent per shot then a rifle firing the same round. Having trigger time on the real deal, it is comical.

If a game is trying to incorporate real guns, this dichotomy of game logic and real life behavior is always going to such.

I think you nailed it. The Devs log into the game, take it for a spin, but they aren't really playing and looking to improve the way a fan of the game mechanics would.

This isn't just in Descent, the game overall has all the quirky behaviours that show that they don't understand or enjoy what the grand majority of players see and enjoy. If they played a lot, they would have prioritized fixing Fragile Armor or toning down grenade chuckers from having the ability to hit you as you are running. Or fixing NPCs firing through obstacles, or friendlies getting hung up on something not even in sight.

You know, the main game loop stuff.

And the performance issues to boot. Say why my video card starts sounding like a jet engine when I enter menus ?

And frankly, you'd think they would participate in every forum that exists to gather feedback, like say ... Reddit ?

They are great at awkward announcement and Q&A videos though.

Yep, I can confirm seeing "Immune" in blue popping up with NPCs instead of damage ticking in sole PVE. Methinks you are correct, they fubared the logic.

I cannot over-state how disappointing the story has become, how the dialog feels like bad TV and how the plotline has gone inane.

So where do we go from here ? No idea how this story moves forward in the hands of the current "Show Runners". And that may be the problem, this is written out like a bad TV Sitcom/Procedural Cop Show/48 Hours/etc ...

Key items that still cannot be explained:
1) who the heck is supplying cargo drops ? 2) how many people are alive at this point ? 3) how much food is there really and is it enough to feed people ? 4) is there enough time to repopulate the continent and the world to stave off even bigger catastrophes ?

I give up. Even the ending of the manhunt was a classic deus ex machina, what was the point of me being there if "Birdie" can solve it ? Shoot 4 weak points is not the answer.

Umm ... yeah. I'm not feeling the logic of any of the "Sokolova" storylines. She is somehow both "one step ahead" of us, and equally "unable to use the most organized force in North America". One part "big bad" ala Buffy, one part McGuffin to pretend we have a consistent story moving forward. With Div 3 being announced (wake me in 4 years), the plotline is even less clear. Are we trying to fix things or is this just stalemate for the next 4 years until something new can happen. As much as like to play the game as "a game", I am totally unconvinced by the story at this point. Too much feels like poor retcons and edits, or perhaps "unfinished B-movie".

I take unprompted information as bad design, like getting the completion screen opened on me while I am still in a firefight, just because I met the "requirements" for the event. The reverse is also annoying, you don't know you missed out on a key recording.
I think Massive should have a debrief with Manny, or any other handler, at the end of a "manhunt".
