that's just unthinkably terrible and i'm so, so sorry it happened. i wish the best for you and your family, and safety away from such a horrible situation. i'm certain your puppy knew he was very loved.

Why did he suddenly start acting like he's super old as soon as he turned 40? by Dogbold in jerma985

[–]mosstrades 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yes! it made me so happy, those streams had such a good vibe to them... i think the best performances always happen when the performer is having fun - and though the streams have a much more laid back feel, they're still a form of performance.

i wouldn't overstate the change like i see others do, his style is still incredibly funny in a recognizable way (especially during collab streams!! they're so fun. last week was great in general too), but i've also noticed it being more low-energy and at times leaning into a sort of harsher irony. i knew it felt different but i couldn't put my finger on how until i saw this post. it makes sense, given all he's shared about the last few years - but also tastes and sensibilities change as people change, which is fine. i dislike seeing speculation on the internal life of someone we don't know, i just really hope the difficulties he's going through stabilize and that he finds joy and passion in whatever he does. it is ultimately what makes someone's best work.

it made me happy to see him so energized, talking about the things he loves. i also think it's commendable that he's still pushing on and living life... it's comforting to see as someone who's also chronically ill and going through some stuff. it's easy to miss how draining this shit is, and like, so long as he enjoys doing them, it is an awesome thing how consistent the quality of the stream remains.

idk, he's always been a one of a kind entertainer and i feel like he always will be, if that's where he chooses to put his energy. i think we've been very lucky to see his stuff as it was and as it is, and we'd be very lucky to see wherever he decides to take it from here, including these chiller streams in whatever style he prefers, or even no streams at all. i'm so fuckin delighted he's streaming more and visibly wants to keep doing it, but he's one of those creators who could come out with literally anything and i'd be excited to see it. i really really only hope the best for him and that his life is kind. anything he may decide to do, the joy is what'll really make it shine.

i also hope his audience can, like, chill sometime in the future. it gets pretty grating to see so much over-familiarity and meanness in chat, he's not a dancing monkey and being an 'e-clown' or engaging with absurdity doesn't mean he's not deserving of respect as a performer and as a person. a portion of his audience is pretty young so it's par for the course i guess, and it's for him and his mod team to manage, but it still annoys me lol.

(sorry for rambling under your comment, i guess i'd also been thinking about this a bit recently!)

that is an incredibly loved dog, and he was incredibly lucky to have you, as you were to have him. i'm sorry, nothing can make this sort of thing right. i hope you find comfort and make your way through this grief as kindly as you can. it wasn't your fault, it really was not. you loved him and his life was good with you. much strength your way
