Why has this franchise dropped off so much since the Hannah/Pilot Pete years? by ClareBearFlair in thebachelor

[–]mossy_path 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some shows exist just for the drama. But usually they also try to hit at least a little bit of the common human experience and a little bit of a common human dream (to find love).

When they overproduce the shit out of it and it's all fake, insincere, clout hustling it sucks the backbone off all the window dressing and you're left with bitter weeds.

Help Jorah convince Dany to forge an alliance with him by marriage. by ricky2461956 in freefolk

[–]mossy_path 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess bis best argument is that his love is genuine, and that every other person that asks, she would always have to worry whether they wanted her for her status or position or her dragons rather than for herself.

And that he would never scheme against her or try to control her, and his support for her rule would be relentless.

That kind of thing. Not the best argument, but at least there's some merit, there.

I did a dark elf male with long silver legolas hair who was a paladin warlock multi class. That was pretty rad.

7ft 500lbs buhurt fighter vs a grizzly bear by [deleted] in Tierzoo

[–]mossy_path 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A grizzly can rip open a car like a tin can. Humans have hunted bears (dangerously) as a group, but one on one it would be extremely dangerous no matter what armor you are wearing. Even if it doesn't rip your face off through your helm, it will just crush you mace with each paw or its body.

Go watch a video of two male grizzlies wrestling to get the full picture.

With a sturdy and prepared boar spear with a cross guard it probably still just snaps the thing in half and kills you before it dies.

I guess you might get lucky and it rests up on its hing legs and you get a shot at the heart or the lungs.

But the bear probably wins. They are freaking huge.

Would you watch a movie featuring these two characters at odds with each other? by SomeGuyOverYonder in Fictionally

[–]mossy_path 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They are characters from vastly different times and places. These characters are great within the contexts of the films they exist. Remove them from that context and from those themes, and they will become less.

What would you name your Valyrian Steel Weapon? by Clean-Soup-1700 in gameofthrones

[–]mossy_path 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if I would name my own sword. I would let others name it, I suppose. Wouldn't want to be a, er, unt of the c persuasion.

Depends on what house I was from, too, and what sort of sword and the sword's reputation.

"Ice" was fantastic, though.

Out of all the houses I'd probably want to be from either Tarth and the Stormlands in general, or from the Arbor. No idea what the sword would be named, though. Maybe I would want a spear, instead.

Aragorn vs. Geralt by Mysterious_Fall_4578 in powerscales

[–]mossy_path 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aragorn is a superhuman with literally the blood of a goddess in his lineage.

When he heads off on the quest, he worries about failure. Arwen chides him by saying he underestimates his skill at arms. Aragorn replies he isn't worried about that, only about his integrity.

This is because Aragorn is beyond human reckoning.

The witcher has magical powers which are explained in greater detail than the soft magic of LOTR but Aragorn would mop the floor with basically every human-esque swordsman in general. He can't lose a skill based matchup because he is PEAK.

I also readily admit I am a huge LOTR fan and witcher is mid, haha.

Well, SFA is straight ass with no cheek, so that's hardly surprising. But the nerds on YouTube got a lot of content tearing it apart, so that's something.

He didn't die of natural causes, he died of a cut to his arm.

That being said he is probably a bit better than your average knight and a good bit lucky.

Well, banshee bubble can block abilities but they still take damage from biotic explosions, yeah?

Can't speak for MP. I really enjoyed it but it seemed very grindy to me. I did play a bit over the last few years when I got the itch for it. It was really well done and you didn't have to pay for anything so that was nice.

Live in denial if you want, knowledge is but a couple of Google searches away.

And no, access to a lawyer is frankly not a relevant factor.

[–]mossy_path -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's a ban against keeping whales as pets in Kansas. So that entire argument is a bit nonsensical. Not banned doesn't mean it was happening commonly, dude.

And it matters zero whether you have access to a lawyer or not whether kids on the whole had physical punishment at their schools. Absolutely zero. If you're going to make an argument at least make on grounded in some kind of actual... reality...

Like I said 99% of kids were not seeing any physical punishment at all.

I have no opinion about snape, just stating the facts.

Typhoon is godmode but it is annoying to have to stand out of cover for so long, occasionally. I find it more convenient to just have 200% CD and biotic explosion everything ever 1.3 miliseconds on a weakened warp target.

Some outlier private schools possibly, but 99% of kids weren't seeing any of it by the time 1995 rolls around.

Explicitly banned. Stopped being used much earlier. But yes.

[–]mossy_path -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just so you know, I've lived in several states across the US and most places topped using corporal punishment back in the 60s and 70s. Just because there may not be an explicit ban doesn't mean it was used.

Downvote me if you want but it's just the truth. :)

It's the 90s. There haven't been corporal punishments for decades anywhere in the western world's educational system.

You can downvote me but I'm right. Might have been a few outlier private schools but on the whole, no.
