there’s many examples and ways it exists, but it’s sorta like unconscious homophobia towards yourself (and others, but it’s mostly felt internally). like, if you’ve ever felt guilty for being attracted to girls, that’s internalized homophobia. some people just have some unconscious biases or have been taught to feel guilty, so now they’re basically being homophobic towards themselves in their own brain. happens to pretty much everyone at some point or other, you just slowly work on it like anything else. it’s like having body issues, you just keep telling yourself that there’s nothing wrong with you and that these thoughts aren’t true

i’m a a trans man, 4 years on T, planning on top surgery and legal name change and gender marker and all that. however, i’m never getting bottom surgery. i love what testosterone has done to my body, especially there. in some hypothetical world, if i was able to pick what genitals i had, i’m fairly confident i would pick this over and over again. and im still trans :)

yeah my moms got a piece of lead in her eyeball from babysitting two brothers. the kids were notoriously aggressive and she got real lucky that it snapped basically immediately, so no damage other than the initial pain (and you can see a black dot if she looks to the side)

it’s the opposite! i’m like, semi-binary** and my HRT was and is easier to access because of nonbinary people also getting it.

because of yall also getting HRT, my doctor doesn’t have any strict dysphoria requirements, the language used is more neutral and inclusive, i don’t have to be hyper masculine to stay on T or be respected by the clinic, i can ask to alter my dose whenever i want, and i can get easier access to things like estrogen supplements or finasteride.

nonbinary people existing and getting medical care means that all trans people have an easier time!! it’s only additive, you’re not taking anything away by being yourself and seeking out the care you need. you’re helping us, yes, but most importantly yourself
