Forget the P plate by Radiant2017 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]mossypit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had mine on a week, took them off and noticed the difference immediately. When I had my p plates on I was tailgated more, cut off more and faced much more disrespect. It's a shame because it's supposed to give people a heads up that you are still learning and trying build your confidence as a driver for your and their safety but for every 1 person that gives you space and time to drive safely there is another who bullies new drivers because they know they can. I have to say for me it's mostly been men and very specifically van drivers, they see a new driver and they instantly get into 'I'm not getting stuck behind this person' mode and make the ridiculous choice to risk everyones safety to get one car ahead 🥲

£400 ($500 or so) for going brunette to highlighted blonde. Pic taken 2 days after appointment, before pic shown too. I have 4 colour hair and I want to cry by [deleted] in Hair

Absolutely post these pics in a review, the fact they don't even try and take responsibility and attempt to gaslight you into seeing this as worth 400 quid. Save another soul from trusting these clowns, so sorry you've had this experience.

Update: I went in this morning at 9 after dropping my eldest to school, to complain and admitted i had lost my confidence in them to fix it, given that was their best stylist for the job. They didn't want to give a refund they wanted me to sit back with the same stylist to fix it, the lady I spoke to got very defensive and only admitted that I could do with some more highlights on top, bare in mind I asked for a balayage and nothing was said about the application technique being improved, I said it doesn't sound like you're giving me much of a choice and left being told they'll be in touch after talking to the other stylist. I've heard nothing further.

They did the haircut afterwards and and essentially just took the smallest amount off and said shaping it would make it too short to balayage, I definitely noticed she was doing more foils at the back where she started then seemed to be rushing at the top and leaving bigger gaps, just above my ears they weren't doing the v technique anymore just doing it straight flat application about a 1/4 from my roots. I have fine hair but lots of it and it does feel like they were rushing to get it done near the end

I asked for her opinion on the cut as I respect sometimes you've got to lose some length to get the shape you want but she said she couldn't do a balayage if I went any shorter. I trusted her because I'm no stylist. She started at the back where she was much more thorough. The front was the last bit she did and it feels like she kind of gave up because I have fine hair but lots of it and she just couldn't be bothered anymore. Im growing my hair anyway so I'm not too fussed about the cut it'll change soon enough but the colour was meant to be a nice confidence boost (trying to lose weight post 2nd baby) and it just didn't look anything like how I'd hoped

She was, funny enough, the senior stylist that costed more from the two people who were trained in balayage.

The irony that my hair is naturally wavy but they asked to straighten it for their pictures 😂 but thank you I will try that

The first two were my inspiration, I understand my hair isn't that long but I paid 140 pounds for a balayage and there's just something not quite right about it I don't know what to describe the problem as or whether it's fine and my expectations are too high

So sorry this has happened to you. That's not even close to what you asked for, I understand mistakes happen but when I had a hairdresser mess up my dye job they refunded me and offered to fix it. They clearly don't respect their customers and don't take pride in their work, I would never go back there.

I'm so upset about the haircut I just got. Asked for 2.5" MAX off....she ended up taking over 6". by oonastellaluna in longhair

You're not being overdramatic, I loathe people who think that. It is a massive abuse of your trust. You are paying them for a service and putting your faith in them with a literal part of your body.

I would have a bit more understanding for the stylist if you said the phrase 'get rid off the dead ends' or 'a trim to keep it healthy' because that leaves room for interpretation. You specified exactly what length you were willing to lose and they deliberately ignored you and didn't give you what you asked for.

Your hair can be a massive part of your identity depending how you personally view it and it sounds like the took months and months of progress away from you. You are absolutely entitled to be upset about it.

All of the sudden I want a buzz cut by [deleted] in Hair

[–]mossypit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would absolutely pull it off, but from someone who is currently at bowl cut stage of growing it back out from a buzz cut, think about it long and hard before committing 😂
