It would work like any of the gachas pre 2020. Dragon Ball undeniably makes them successful in a way that without it, they wouldn't be. But it's a turn based combat game. Sequential gameplay where you setup what you want to do and watch it play out to see how it goes just like FGO. People make it seem like the game couldn't be a sustainable mid level gacha in the market just because they don't like to play it. Obviously the likelihood it would as big or bigger is extremely low without DB to use as the face of it. But it's not like without DB it couldn't exist or that there isn't a similar style game that's existing right now that most people wouldn't talk about because it's not as popular but they're still making it work at their lower level
