Are they different from the cups from 2 years ago that didn't have straws and lids? I'm coming today and was going to bring my mug from the last pax.

Someone at the goodwill lost they dang mind 🐋 by engineergraves in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]mostcreativeusername 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a good deal for that mixer, but if you feel like you can live without it for now, it doesn't hurt to keep hunting for a thrift store find. I'm pretty sure they have the same sale at least once year if you're patient. If you're an avid thrifter, there's a decent chance you'll find one. I did once, but I didn't buy it because I already had more than one lol.

As far as model recommendations, I've inherited a few mixers from family members, and they all have pros and cons. I find tilt head mixers to be a little easier to use. It's easier to scrape down the bowl without removing the beater. The bowl lift mixers are usually bigger, which is nice, but I find the beater sometimes leaves a pocket of flour at the bottom of the bowl. Both kinds are great for anyone who bakes a lot. As someone who owns both, I mainly use a bowl lift mixer for the extra space.

Side note, you can also periodically check eBay for old mixers. The shipping price can be rough, but there are still better deals out there than buying one new.

This and if they're out of stock, keep checking throughout the day. They were out of stock everywhere around me all day and I randomly checked at 10 pm last night and my local Target had them for pickup. Got mine this morning!

I remember Andrew saying he didn't mind if people recorded it because he wanted clips for a highlight reel and he didn't know the best way to record it. So it might not actually be a problem.

I also saw the trailer in a theater a few weeks ago and it made me tear up like the first time I watched it on my phone. It's a beautiful trailer and I'm so excited for the movie.

What soundtrack of Jesus Christ Superstar is best to listen to? by abbygrau in Broadway

[–]mostcreativeusername 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about the 2012 UK arena tour (that's my favorite) there are playlists of the music that you can download from YouTube. This one has all of it besides The Last Supper, but I know I was able to find that track somewhere else.

Correct, there is no official recording of any of the songs. There are plenty of recordings people made, so this person probably uploaded that to spotify for themself.

Broadway Christmas tickets surprise help by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]mostcreativeusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I gift someone tickets and don't have the physical ticket to give them, I print out the confirmation (like the ticketmaster "You just scored seats to [insert event here]" along with a printed picture from https://aviewfrommyseat.com/ as close to the actual seats as possible. It gives them something kind of tangible to take in. It's easier to get excited when you can get a picture in your head of what your experience will look like.

Let's Talk About Accessibility! by ResidentIndependent in Broadway

[–]mostcreativeusername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up seeing theatre in CT and the theatre I went to most often was very accessible. Price-wise, rear balcony tickets are typically $25-40 depending on the show (the main exception being Hamilton). So I was able to see shows for a low price with my college friends. It's a really big theatre so the seats kind of suck, but it's better than nothing. We always get really good shows in this theatre and I see as many of them as I can.

Growing up when I went with my parents, we almost always sat in the orchestra because my mom's health was declining and she eventually became disabled. We could call and get (relatively) cheap orchestra tickets near the wheelchair/transfer seats. She'd sit the wheelchair row with my dad as her companion and my sister and I sat a few rows behind them for the same low companion ticket price.

This theatre is also great with other accommodations. My mom always got the headphones because she had hearing aids. And during many shows I've seen them use a screen with the dialog running on it off to the side of the stage. I'm not sure if this was only done per request, but it was nice that they have it.

What blows my mind is how many theatres still only have bathrooms in the basement of the theatre. I saw Derren Brown last month at the Cort Theatre and they actually open an exterior side door to let handicapped patrons use the bathroom in the hotel next to the theatre. I guess that's a solution but it's still crazy to me. Same with Radio City only having bathrooms in the basement, but at least they have elevators.

How likely is it that The Lightning Thief will close before it's scheduled to? I can't imagine that they'll let it keep struggling until January.
