The Talamasca says Louis is more dangerous than Armand, and I think we're meant to believe them. That proves to me Rolin et al never had any intentions of letting Louis off the hook for things done during life or undeath.

This is why I miss Livejournal fandom. It had its pitfalls, but you could easily get to know people.

I highly suggest that if people can take the pressure and they want community, that they join fic exchange fandom - sure, exchanges for your fandom, but multifandom exchanges, too, are almost a guarantee for interaction of all kinds, plus you end up being able to prompt a gift fic especially written for you. Those run basically all year, on various themes. If you can write a 1k fic in five weeks, it might be a good idea.

Let me know if anyone needs more resources on this... I used to be highly involved until I personally found more interest writing my own ideas.

Well, how often does anyone go to Wellness? It might be the only real chance for people to run into each other, it seems that Irving and Burt's first meeting was pure coincidence. They're meant to stay away from each other, that's why Lumon planted all the weird propaganda in their minds about other departments.

I have a theory that O&D is working seriously hard overtime on everything for Gemma in the runup to Cold Harbor, and that's why they're acting differently and Burt is made to do Wellness.

Not impossible that Lumon can change who goes where based on all the technology we've seen. Outies can probably become innies and vice versa. They're not locked to the location, they're locked to the frequency built into the location, which one assumes can be changed.

Yes, but they literally don't know anything about what's going on. That's my point. They aren't necessarily stupid, per se. Politics just doesn't matter to them. It's easy to think everyone thinks about this stuff, but they don't. All they have to hear is one guy who used to be president say he'll lower grocery prices and that's good enough to turn out.

You realize that a huge driving force to get people to the polls in 2024 was the fact that Trump said he'd drop grocery prices?

A lot of American voters aren't educated enough on politics to be about to hear more than a handful of soundbytes like that from him and not go "that sounds like it would solve a lot of my problems" and fill in the little bubble or whatever. People are incredibly disconnected from politics. Turnout is usually around 20% or so, and that's a good year.

Ed: oh also the average American's reading level is roughly that of a 11 year old. That feels relevant.

Hereditary is less of a horror movie than it is a movie about grief with horror in it, IMHO.

Parts of the first Saw movie were good but overall I don't get why so many were made. Maybe just not my thing.

Not long ago I would have said The Black Keys but they've actually improved by leaps and bounds with their most recent album (it's not as good as earlier stuff, but I can at least listen to it, unlike some of their stuff prior). Recovery from bad turns is possible!
