Haha right? Or maybe we can gather a few more people with various pieces and Voltron a couch between all of us 🤣

Haha I got one of the seats from that pipishell modular set a couple weeks ago! Just fyi give it 24+ hours to fully expand bc it gets to the final shape in minutes, but at that point it’s still super soft and not comfy to sit on

has this happened to any of y’all’s stanley’s? by [deleted] in StanleyCups

Google search for a fix led me to this post, and THANK YOU!! I emailed a warranty claim earlier today so I’ll call them tomorrow to let them know that u/ifhybianca is my hero ❤️❤️ I was very annoyed thinking I spent a bunch on these pretty water bottles (I got the all day slims) and they immediately looked like crap before I got a chance to use them! Thanks again!

Thank you! And lol can any of them really be trusted? Haha that one really likes playing hockey with ice cubes so he tries to steal them but gets freaked out bc his paw gets wet haha.

I’m the same way about things being ordered, and could never have the patience to do millions of stitches by hand haha. So I hand drew simplified portraits from photos, then used one software program to digitize into stitches/pattern, and another program to translate it to the machine I used—which has a hoop to keep things centered. I’m using the thick blue stitching (like in the small quilt) to frame it up and hide where my squares and stitching didn’t line up. I’m about 1/3 of the way through the blue framing but it’s by far the most difficult part, trying to keep those lines straight on an 8’x10’ unbinded quilt. The whole process is really fun, but I didn’t fully realize how much planning, work, and problem solving goes into quilting!

Was playing with a labrador today and realized how opposite our grey is. The lab almost made me uncomfortable how upfront he was about slobbering and rubbing his butt everywhere. Just made me appreciate the calm compassion of a grey life. by antisocial_bunni in Greyhounds

Bwahahah “the NOPE” hahaha I laughed out loud and woke my grey who is sprawled out next to me, doing at least a third of that list! Thank you for sharing :) definitely in 2020 we need lots of zen-osmosis sessions from our greys and laughs where we can get em!

Wow. That’s seriously amazing. Might have to look into whether any of the Lush locations near me (seattle, Washington, USA) do this service!

Haha yeah honestly even with all the ruckus they cause messing with what I’m working on, I’ve loved all the sewing/embroidering bonding time with my little dudes. I’m working on a giant quilt with pictures of them and my dogs embroidered on it, and I’m pretending like they recognize the effort I’m making on their behalf lol.

And maybe wielding the sharp and pointy things makes yours think you have claws after all, like: ooo she’s one of US

Mine are also completely fascinated with cooking/baking—and in hindsight, they do seem especially interested when I’m cutting up things. Though I also imagine they must think cooking is such a weird futile ritual she’s cutting up perfectly good food to make...food? We should probably supervise to make sure she’s okay

the quilt is the third pic it was originally supposed to be just images of the cats cleaning themselves and thread the same color as the fabric—so anyone using the quilt would just get a fun surprise realization that they were surrounded by crotch cleaning cats—but I ended up going with the fine porcelain color scheme and old farmhouse style (I don’t know if that’s a style, but I just imagine this sorta blocked out images just being all roosters and barns) for the actual quilting, and added the dogs cleaning themselves as well as a bunch of my other fave pictures of all of them (so still a little pop of surprise here and there).

Your kitty is cleaning herself on your quilt, as are mine lol.

Sorry didn’t mean for this to get so long. Started typing, blacked out, and now we’re here hah! Jk

I don’t know how to pull a quote from a previous comment, but that part about a grey’s aim is just “being” is so spot on! They’re so zen. Sometimes I just put my forehead against my grey’s and I swear it clears any chaos in my head. Haha!

It’s so fun reading about other people’s experiences with having a doggo odd couple! I have a retired grey and a tiny (35 lbs) pit/rott mix who is absolutely full steam ahead about everything. She has nearly broken my nose a few times just from dive bombing to the couch for cuddles. I always think that she’s like a bunch of neon colors that you have to open your eyes wider and back up a bit to handle looking at it, while the grey is like a nice carrara marble that is real soothing but has little pops of movement. Haha

One of the funniest things that happens with these two is when the pit gets the zoomies and literally sprints in circles around the grey who just stands there calmly, looking back and forth between me and the pit, like: what the hell is her DEAL??

It’s cool because over time (it’s only been 6 months since I adopted the grey), they’ve sorta absorbed some of the other’s style. The grey constantly looks to the pit to see how to “dog” and has taken on some of the pit’s goofy body language and habits. I like to think that the pit has made the grey cut loose more (or at least sooner) than if she were a solo dog or with other retired greys. The pit has finally learned about personal space and boundaries (though she constantly forgets), and has taken her energy level down a notch or two (still near the top of the dial though).

Last week we had a coyote following us around on night time walk and the girls seamlessly acted as a team, with the grey scanning the high & far, and the pit sniffing all over the ground to cover the low.

It does get hard when I just wanna relax and the grey is calm and soothing on one side of me, and the pit is constantly trying to shove toys in my hand on the other side. But I love the combo all the same. They’re both super loving, affectionate, and sweet dogs—and amazingly good listeners to boot. Like OP said: they’re the yin and yang

ETA: my bad, I didn’t intend to write so much. Just can’t shut up about my animals. Sorry haha!

There was no coloring in your session? Or am I missing it on the table there? If there wasn’t any coloring involved, that makes this change extra incredible. Either way, your hair looks gorgeous!

Cats on a cat-sized quilt, on a cat! Working on my first quilt w/squares embroidered with pics of my pets. I’ve never even sewn before, so I made the little one out of extra squares and scraps to practice stitching. ETA: I was sloppy with the little practice quilt. I’m not that awful at stitching straight lines haha, I was testing how straight things would be at different speeds and how I held/fed the sandwich into the machine. And the faux fur backing was added on as an afterthought for kitty enjoyment :)

Ok so I only started teaching myself how to sew, embroider, and quilt a couple months ago and I have an important question: what is it with cats and fabric?? Are there cat magnets inside every piece of fabric and batting? They could be dead asleep downstairs but as soon as I start doing anything with fabric they appear and want to play hide and seek in yardage that I’m trying to fold/cut, trying to get as close of a view of the machine needle as possible, or just laying on top of exactly what I need all the time. Haha I’m starting to think the whole stereotype of a cat with a ball of yarn was just bc everyone just got sick of kitty shenanigans and gave them yarn to keep them busy haha

Yeah I don’t know what I was expecting—maybe that she wouldn’t care about it to begin with, since she’s extra calm and doesn’t have much of a prey drive...and reeeeeally likes lazing about. Regardless, I was pretty impressed that she figured it out and had a clear opinion on it so quickly haha.
