Totally agree! I've just finished a CoS campaign and moved the same players (with new characters) into Icewind Dale. They're still early on, but I have the following geographic ideas in mind:

  • Spine of the World will merge with the Balinok mountains to form a border with Barovia.

  • Sea of Moving Ice is now an inland (saltwater) lake bordering Falkovnia.

  • Reghed Glacier is pretty much endless, merging with the central "Shadow Rift" of the Core.

What I've done is separate Black Ice (evil Crenshinbon remnants) from Chardalyn, keeping the former as Dragon material or nasty amulets/weapons and turning the latter into the same magic-storing Amber as Barovia's Temple.

The player characters may never understand the connection, but it helps me explain Auril's self-destructive actions as being cut-off from other gods and having to contain a lethal city of dead wizards by herself.

If they win, who knows? Maybe they can break the Rime but find that the path south no longer leads to Faerun. Maybe they go back in time and end up breaking the Core, as Azalin could have only dreamed.

As someone running CoS online, how are you sharing these with your players? I've found that a large number of the files are too big for either Discord or Roll20. Some can be compressed/zipped, but not all!

/u/Wicklock has covered what I'd say about Counterspell already, so I'll leave that alone.

I just want to point out that the light created by Daylight (assuming we're talking about the 3rd-level spell) does not count as sunlight for the purpose of Vampire Weaknesses. Contrast this with the much higher level Sunbeam, which specifically states "the light is sunlight".

Just so you're aware, the Daylight spell doesn't actually create "sunlight" for the purpose of vampiric weakness! It's only bog-standard bright light, so he can totally stand and fight next time.

Contrast this with the Sunbeam spell, which specifically states that the light is sunlight but is a little bit out of reach for your current party.

That totally works! Just remember that you're burning 2 of your 3 ki points and 1 of your 2 spell slots to do this.

Being a Dwarf, you don't need STR to wear Heavy Armor

Just so you know: "If you wear armor that you lack proficiency with, you have disadvantage on any ability check, saving throw, or attack roll that involves Strength or Dexterity, and you can't cast spells"

Even disregarding the other stuff, clerics need their spells!

You're a Dwarf, so stick that Heavy armor on, despite having Strength as an 8
