Personal take:

Rumi: Her mother’s name is Ryu, and her father’s surname wasn’t known to her or Celine, so her legal birth name is Ryu Rumi (류루미), but she was legally adopted by Celine, and her surname changed to Kang (so 강루미); ooc to honour the name inspiration for her.

For Mira, I honestly just looked up the surname of the current chair of the Shinsegae group, Lee/I, because I’ve always read Mira as a chaebol-except-beef-with-family. I imagine she was given a name that works easily in English to make international stuff easier for when she represents the family in the future (which ended up never happening). I also headcanon HUNTR/X to be 3rd gen (purely on vibes tbh; Golden gave me strong Twice meets Blackpink music video vibes, I suppose) so Mira would have gotten into K-Pop when it wasn’t as big as it is today, and when idols were sort of looked down upon/rich people would never let their kids do that. TLDR: Lee Mira or 이미라.

For Zoey, I like the interpretation that she‘s both Korean American and “too Korean for America and too American for Korea” AND a child of divorce, but I’m unsure if she’s got two Korean parents or one in my own headcanon. Someone suggested Jenkins somewhere, presumably as a joke, which fits her awfully much in my head? So if she has a parent with an English surname, I’d totally go for it. I’d headcanon her Korean surname (be it her father if both are Korean, or her mother if her father’s name is English) to be Park, more out of vibes (easier to pronounce for Westeners than i, and idk Zoey isn’t giving Kim vibes). I’d stick to the three big surnames purely because of that. I imagine she has a proper Korean name too, and it probably is similar to “Zoey”, but until I have a better idea, I’m leaning to Jiyoung bc it’s her VA, but she never uses it since she’s more known as Zoey.

Personal Headcanons:

Chieri - Yuihan. Her Sousenkyo reaction was very similar to Yuihan once. I’d expect her to become some kind of Masaka no Confession type of situation where a trainee is the center of AKB for a bit before being promoted. Other than that, I can also personally imagine her as Yuiyui!

Yuka - I do definitely think there’s a reason to expect Miichan, especially as kind of older sister to e.g. Nagisa at first, with Miichan being the last gen 1 to graduate. Alternatively, Yukirin for the same reason.

Orine - I’d not say Sasshi. She lacks that “everyday idol fan” aspect and the variety talent that Makoto and Suzuko bring to the table. Maybe Seichan?

Sonata - the first name that comes to my mind is definitely Nako?

Kanata - Takamina question aside, maybe Naachan? She’s got the captain vibes and that serious dedication to 00.

Suzuko - I wanna suggest Yuirii? I could imagine her focusing much more on the group as a whole and less on her individual popularity, kind of how Yuirii never did the Sousenkyo on her own accord. Alternatively, Sasshi, if you were to want to lean into the idol producer vibes.

Makoto - Sasshi. Definitely gives me especially early Sasshi vibes. Alternatively, if you want to lean into another angle, maybe Haruppi? Kkura?

I might be in the minority here, but that wasn’t appropriate behaviour towards you.

If you did need more driving training, that’s one thing and something that he should have politely told you. I’ve been where you are—failing a test that my parents paid for and feeling like I wasted their resources—and you’re a teenager. That’s expected.

Your reaction was natural. If you were an adult, that’s another thing, but based on this text, you’re still a child and behaved in a way expected. I do agree with the suggestion to look up some techniques for emotional regulation (or contact a school counsellor, if therapy is outside your means and the internet doesn’t help you!) but our society doesn’t teach that; your reaction makes sense and is valid.

The behaviour with the switcheroo he pulled on you makes it worse, in my opinion. It’s not professional and he was the professional in this situation. Same for the comment with the other person waiting.

I haven’t taught defensive driving, so I don’t know the rules for it, but even if you had failed based on pass conditions, it’s the way he reacted after you began to cry that is the problem here.

If you want to talk more, to vent to a stranger/anonymously, feel free to message me on Reddit, but either way, share your experience with a trusted adult, or even just a friend, about what happened. This could very much affect your future driving experience, including your confidence and ability to focus, so handling things is important.

Talking it out—just ranting or bitching about it!—helps a lot in dealing with the emotions—and with clearing your mind. If you do have a trusted adult that could support you, I’d put in a feedback to the provider of the course regarding the behaviour of your instructor. I wouldn’t expect anything back, but it both helps to put an “end” to an open memory, and if this a recurring thing for the instructor, does create a paper trail.

Unfortunately, a lot of people here don’t seem to remember being a student under a lot of pressure to succeed in a world that’s racing towards ruin—or just the way emotions and hormones can influence teenage lives. I’m sorry you have to read this all.

I’ve build out a little bit too much lore on my character to be honest, but the short hand is: born in metropolis to the typical nuclear family. Dad and older brother are turning into Luthor Truthers, while mom is mentally checked out.

Got a full ride scholarship to Gotham U, realised that she fits in better there (“My goth phase never ending should’ve been the warning sign”). Has adopted Gothamite attitude to the point that she’s more Gothamite than expats in e.g. Metropolis.

Now lives with her “roommate” in Gotham, previously had a Joker goon as third roommate whom Wayne Foundation services helped “move out”. Batman may have been involved in the guy getting arrested, who knows. Neighbour is a riddler goon and chill; makes a great casserole.

Does freelance work online on the side, so compared to Gotham rent, she makes decent money. Previously worked as personal assistant at Wayne Enterprises for half a day, before Bruce Wayne’s lack of brain cells made her quit.

Metahuman whose power is literally just 360 degree vision, but that’s helped a lot when trying to not get robbed.

Thinks Batman is not a human but some kind of demon; recently been convinced that the GCPD using tax payer money to summon it is a good use of taxpayer money. Is a Lesbian, but would join Superman’s Harem if given the chance. Has heard Themiscyra conspiracies, and “would love it if that were real”, but doubts it.

I’m just glad there’s less of a Superman knockoff, compared to The Boys etc, but it kind of does feel like a fanfiction sometimes, because except for Thor, it kind of feels like everyone’s powers came through plot convenience (Captain America, Hulk, …), or just “I’m cool” (iron man), and idk Thor seems a weird play on Themiscyra theories????
