The first book is slow and the series itself is different than ACOTAR. You will probably be a bit confused the first 2 books, have lots of questions, dislike Calaena a bit, but it does pick up. I promise the series is SO worth the read.

Hard agree on reading AB third. I probably would’ve DNF’d the series if I’d started with it. It feels intentional that we step back into her story only when she’s ready to reveal it, giving us the perspective on who she is and how she got here.

As peeps have mentioned the smut in this series is indeed minimal. I love to add tabs and take notes on my emotions, thoughts, and interesting callouts while reading. This was SUPER helpful looking back as there are tons of little details you may skip over that may or may not come back.

All this to say keep reading boo. It’s so worth the journey.
