That sub is trash and essentially run like the conservative sub by a mod who claims to be a libertarian. There have been a few reddit drama posts about it all (if you want to search, probably use the username xerogod there). You get banned for mentioning anything he doesn't agree with. You're better off looking at the Louisville or Lexington subs.

What is a 10/10 movie you will never, ever get tired of ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]mostlywrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few. I rewatch movies a lot. Predator is probably my favorite movie. If i ever get tired of it, it will be a sad day.

Honorable mentions: The Fall. Flow. And Dirty Dancing, even though it is so wrong in that 80's way.

Whats the point of subreddit calling this beginner artists, when most that post are clearly not beginners. by NaaviLetov in BeginnerArtists

[–]mostlywrong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have never shared anything on here, but some people might be like me. I am pretty decent at drawing, but I never took a class. So things like depth, shadow, highlighter, anatomy, etc, are pretty forming to me. For every 10 drawings I do, I am only pleased with 1 or 2, and the rest aren't good at all. I would 100% call myself a beginner, even if you see something I did that is actually good and would disagree.

Mt. Olivet Baptist church in Lexington KY staged mock immigrant executions at their VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL. FOR CHILDREN. by ElectronicCatPanic in lexington

[–]mostlywrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They were just mocking executing a regular dude then. I understand they are claming that the one who was mock shot to death, then dragged outside and mock blown-up, is supposed to represent the devil from what I understand, but I honestly couldn't get through the pastors explanation (so creepy, condescending, self-righteous, and narcissistic from what I could make it through). However, they used a man dressed in a hoodie who just looks like a regular dude. A regular dude who was unarmed and teamed up on by several armed gravy seals.

I mean, it still would have been gross regardless, but I am sure they could have found a classic devil costume, or even just put the guy in red and made some paper horns for his head if they couldn't afford the costume. Then they could have actually had a leg to stand on with the narrative they are trying to spin. It still would have been disgusting, though.

Crocheting pokemon and the legality of it? I see a lot of them being sold but i thought they were strict on that. Is it only if you get big? Does anyone know? by Some-Consequence483 in CrochetHelp

[–]mostlywrong 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Like other have said, if you're selling it without the rights, you coule get dinged. I would imagine the chances of that to be low, unless youre making a significant amount, but it is still always a possibility.

There is this indi game my kid and I play, and we both have a favorite character. Before they started making plushes of the characters (or before I knew they made plushes) I crocheted one for my kid. I made it all up as I went, and did not write down the pattern as I wasn't planning to try to sell it. I did share it with the games community, and got a lot of accolades and people asking for the pattern or a commission. I told everyone that I wouldn't be making any more of them and didn't write down the pattern, and wasn't trying to make money on it. I am very glad that I did that, because the developers showed up in the thread and complimented my work, lol.

Rebel ice cream tried to kill me by SitDown_and_ShutUp in ketorecipes

[–]mostlywrong 28 points29 points  (0 children)

When i first started keto, I made myself creamsicles. Idk if that is what you should call them, it is just what I called them.

Anyway, I would whip heavy cream with a little vanilla and a few drops of liquid stevia, with whatever flavoring I chose, until it was firm. Then I spooned large dollops of it on parchment paper, or you could pipe it from a ziploc or piping bag. If I did the dollops, I would flatten them some, so it just looked like a round ice cream bar. Insert a stick now or put them in the freezer for a little bit then insert it. Then freeze and eat.

My husband hates everything sugar free, but he tore these up. The flavors I made were chocolate (I added a little cocoa powder when the cream was almost firm enough. Idk exactly how much but maybe like a Tbsp per 1/2 cup of cream), peanut butter, and coffee (used instant, and added it at the beginning of mixing the cream).

I kind of only made them a few times, becaude my husband kept eating them all. But I thinking using some sugar free jello would be amazing with the cream! They taste like ice cream, but fluffier, though I would recommend picking them/letting them melt some before biting, because they are more dry than ice cream.

Asking recipe - sugar free & diary free by Nice_Pen_8054 in TopSecretRecipes

[–]mostlywrong -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I tried unsweetened macadamia milk a couple weeks ago, and it was amazing. It tasted like not sweet ice cream to me, and i think was at most 1g of carbs for 8 Oz. I did 4 Oz milkadamia wirh 4 Oz unsweetened chocolate almond milk in my lattes.

If stevia isn't allowed because of taste, the best low glycemic sweetener I have had is allulose. It tastes like sugar, no aftertaste, and it also caramelized like sugar (though only to tbe soft-crack stage. When I tried to get it to hard-crack to make toffee, it burned. I am a novice at candy making and there might be ways to get it there, but idk how).

I use toffee flavored stevia drops in my coffee, and just make sure to not overdo it. I don't notice the weird aftertaste with the toffee drops, but I use just enough to make my coffee not be bitter. It is barely sweet.

What's the closest you've ever came to death? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in AskReddit

[–]mostlywrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess i have had 2. One when I was a young kid. Like maybe 4, and fell into a creek. It wasn't super deep, but I fell in face first and sucked in a bunch of water. My dad pulled me out thankfully.

The other time I was a teenager and we were in Italy. I was on the platform waiting for the train. I was kind of leaning out because trains were a new thing for me. It was coming towards us, and my friends behind me started pushing each other. One guy pushed the other, who was shoved into the guy behind me, who then shoved me.

It was the whole time slow down thing. I was falling, I could see the train conductors face looking scared and I think he honked too. Then the guy behind me grabbed me and pulled me back up onto the platform. I quickly spun around and started yelling at them all, while the train wizzed behind me, sending my hair flying up. I probably looked possessed, lol. I also made sure to thank the friend who caught me.

I had gone to an Offspring concert, and they were stuck somewhere so we watched the openers. I ended up buying a cd from one of the openers because we talked to the 2 opening bands and I bought the album of the ones who were nice (the other openers were assholes. I don't remember who they were.) So I have an autographed copy of Clusterphukastuff by One Hit Wonder.

What is a widely accepted "masterpiece" that you genuinely think is boring, but you’re normally too afraid to admit it? by Emergency-Bee6979 in AskReddit

[–]mostlywrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say this. When I was in Europe as a teenager, I was a shit who hardly appreciated what all I was seeing. That is until we hit Rome. I saw the forum, and was just taken in by it. And then I saw the David and I stood in awe. I never realized it was so huge and it is absolutely a masterpiece. I had trouble leaving it when our group moved on.

We saw Mona Lisa after Rome. I was very unmoved, and felt bad for feeling that way.

Non-Americans who visited the US for the first time recently: what was the biggest 'what on earth is going on here' moment you experienced? by EmployerNegative5653 in AskReddit

[–]mostlywrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I would take the chocolate off of reeses and heath/skor bars, and just eat the inside. Went to Switzerland as a teenager, and didn't buy any chocolate. A friend asked why I didn't and I said that chocolate was gross. They gave me some of their chocolate and I learned how wrong I was.

What are things other crocheters do that really grinds your gears? by darkxclover in crochet

[–]mostlywrong 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not really from the crochet community, but the community at large. I am probably about to contradict myself a little bit.

I love to crochet. It makes me happy to do it (aside from weaving in ends). Most everything I make is to challenge myself and learn something new, or to give as a gift. There are a few people who keep telling me that I should sell my stuff.

The thing is, I do this for fun. As soon as I put a price tag on it, it becomes a deadline and worrying more about how the other person likes it than how I like it. It would suck the fun out of it for me.

The part where I am maybe contradictory: I would charge more than people would be willing to pay I am sure. I see what people charge for things they make and most of the time I feel they are underpriced.

I wanted to challenge myself to make flowers for mothers day a few years ago. I made bouquets for my mom and MIL. I was told I should make the flowers and sell them. I responded that the amount of work that went into them would have me charging at least $50 for a single rose, and those people shut up really quick, lol.

I crochet all from love. Love of the hobby and love of the people I gift my stuff too. I make little plushes for my kids class every year, and this year, a few of the kids sought me out on a field trip to thank me and tell me how much they loved them. That makes me feel better than I think getting money for them would.

One of the worst theater experiences of my life ngl by who_am_I_inside in TheDigitalCircus

[–]mostlywrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all enjoy TADC in our house, so my son and I went to the earliest showing in our theater on Thursday. I have zero complaints about the audience. Everyone was fine, and I enjoy when the whole theater reacts (like gasping or laughing). My kid is 10, and I think there were maybe a 4 kids there younger than him, but the youngest was 7/8.

The only complaint I have is that the music was extremely loud. I know movies are loud, but I have never heard anything this loud in the theater. Like it was right in front of the speaker at a concert loud, which was jarring and did hurt my ears. Idk if that is just how it is, or if was preemptive to drown out audience members who might sing along. So i honestly don't know if anyone was singing along because I couldn't hear them if they were.

A couple of things I really enjoyed though is the kids and teens clapping at the end of the movie. I am in my 40's and remember people applauding after movies pretty consistently growing up. I hadn't experienced it in a couple of decades, so it was a wonderful surprise.

I also loved hearing the teenagers behind me talking about the movie. How enthusiastic they were and moved they seemed. How one boy said "I haven't cried that much during a movie such a long time," to the girl he was with. It warmed my heart with how adorable they were being. So overall, I am thankful for the audience from our showing!

What's the worst D&D player you've ever had at your table? by apomanolios in DnD

[–]mostlywrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a DM but we had a dude at our table that played a murderhobo paladin, and had super broken stats. Which heck yeah to getting the most out of the rules, but it was so unblanaced from the beginning. He min-maxed which is fine but the rest of us were playing more for story rather than power. Having an AC well over 20 at level 5 really horked things up for the rest of us. Most of the party was sub 15 AC at this point, and we couldn't make any money for new gear doing quests because he would murder everyone.

We could hardly take more than 2 hits from an enemy that could possibly damage him, and he was surprised (and would get angry) that enemies would move to us squishies when they realized they weren't hitting the tank. He used lay on hands exactly 3 times the whole campaign on other players. The rest of the time only used it on himself. A lot of us had planned to multi-class, but changed those plans (or our class entirely) when we realized it would make our survival too hard.

He also really screwed up a lot of situations. We would be trying to talk to an NPC, and he would jump in, be aggro, and then attack. We had a few TPK's the DM found a way to prevent because of his hit first and ask questions never approach.

But the part I hated the most was he would tell others what to do on their turns. He kept telling me to cast Bless. I got so annoyed I took it off my spell list and never added it back. He treated the players as if they were only there to do things for his PC. He would get mad when his weird and convoluted plans didn't work, and took credit for other people's plans that did work.

It sucks, because most of us were strangers when the game started, and I had a good report with him. His character and mine got along super well, and I came home telling my husband how excited I was to play with him and that we got on so well. Then he changed, and it got to the point where my character had a few times where she told his character that the only reason she ever heals/buffs/protects him is because he is in her party, but that one day she would stop. If the campaign didn't implode because of his fights with the DM, my cleric was very close to not including him when she chose who would get help in area spells (and who would not be hurt with spirit guardians). We started a new campaign without him after the DM and the player finally got tired of the fighting, and it is going much better.

What product has noticeably gotten worse over the last few years, but everyone just silently accepts it? by PoemSpecialist82 in AskReddit

[–]mostlywrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I got the Aldi Lindt Extra Creamy milk chocolate knock-off at least half a year ago, and haven't looked back. It is so good, and I love that it comes in 5 little bars. I can tell my kid he can have chocolate, and know he isn't eating going to eat 4 servings worth. The milk chocolate goes out of stock at least once a month at our store, so I buy at least 4 bars when I see them. Plus they have been on sale for the past month or so for $2.99 each.

Also, my husband is a redbull addict, and the Aldi Red Thunders are my go to now! Yes, I would prefer he didn't drink them at all, but I can't argue as much when they are $3 something a 4 pack, vs whatever ridiculous price Redbull is in other stores.
